Important new @usbr water and river restoration grants in the Upper Colorado and Rio Grande River Basins and up to $40M for securing Shoshone water rights. All to insure our water supplies are more resilient in the face of a hotter and drier future. #coleg #copolitics
Nearly $177M in federal funds will support CO water projects in the Upper Rio Grande & Upper Colorado River basins! The CWCB is proud to have supported several awardees.

A huge accomplishment & congrats to the CO Delegation for their bipartisan support. @ColoradoDNR we look forward to the Presidents signature & are ready to start projects with nonprofit partners like @Colorado_TU to tackle our extensive abandoned hard rock mine challenges.
Great news: our Good Samaritan Remediation of Abandoned Hardrock Mines Act passed the House. I’m grateful for the strong bipartisan support for this common sense legislation – I look forward to President Biden signing it into law.

Some news from @COParksWildlife on our efforts around gray wolf reintroduction. As they state, wolves are known to range far and wide so traveling to the south of I-70 was not unexpected.
For the first time, our biologists have observed GPS data from a collared wolf south of I-70. Wolves are habitat generalists and it’s anticipated they will expand widely over time in Colorado. We’re sharing this specifically because this is the first observance of this data.

I'm working with the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Indian Tribes to address historic inequities relating to their water supplies. I support the Tribes pursuing funding from the Inflation Reduction Act to compensate them for water they don’t use but have the right to. (1/4)

Good news...
I am relieved that 12 of the people trapped in the Mollie Kathleen Mine have been safely rescued. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the individual lost in this incident. I thank Teller County and Sheriff Mikesell and his team, as well as the other law enforcement and first responders from local and state government for their swift response and tireless efforts, including members of the Department of Natural Resources, the Department of Labor and Employment, and the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. Thanks to this collaborative effort, each of these individuals will return home safely.
