I know how ill coronavirus makes you. It was entirely right for Dom Cummings to find childcare for his toddler, when both he and his wife were getting ill.
My father has terminal cancer. Monday the 19th was meant to be his team's last ditch attempt, he was scheduled for stem cell transplant. I truly have lost faith in humanity right now.
I'm mulling over the implications of cancer treatments being suspended for Elizabeth Windsor's funeral. What is the thinking here? For me, with lung cancer, the delay may mean the difference between keyhole surgery and being properly cut open. Is that supposed to help me mourn?
For the first time in my life, I will say, what about the men? The men we see running with children in their arms. The men we see digging bodies out from the rubble with their bare hands. The men who are singing to and cradling traumatised children. Why are they disposable?
Emmanuel Macron has called on Israel to stop killing women and babies in Gaza.
The French president said there is ‘no justification’ for the bombing campaign and called for a humanitarian ceasefire in the region.

My humour is quite dry and a large amount of men are unnerved by it, and women find it too blunt. Interestingly the same jokes from a man have the same people in stitches.

The Met police has called on the SAS to provide counter-terrorism support after 100 firearms officers downed their weapons in protest at the charging of their colleague with the murder of Chris Kaba.

Also the moment I stood up for myself, our huge circle of friends disappeared. Even now, I and three children do not require friendship and support in the minds of so many.
This is how rapists continue to be enabled and their actions covered up. Friends insist they know them, erase the experience and testimony of the victims, and smear those who speak out. It is so interesting to watch people's reactions to this situation,

Raised in the UK, parents from Bangladesh, there was no washing machine in the home until us kids grew up and bought one. Household of 5. There is a reason my mum is in crippling pain all the time.

Reading about the fatalities in Hajj and seeing the photo of bats dropping dead in the heat is truly terrifying. The catastrophe is here, but so many refuse to see it.
I did not see this warning go out when the local roads in my area were holding street parties for VE day.
I have yet to hear of any communal gatherings occurring in the Muslim community.

56 injuries from the sexual assault rendered her unconscious. Yet there was not sufficient evidence of further harm or distress when he went on to brutally murder her? So murdering her became a kindness? I am at a loss.

I've been thinking about all the people who were putting together parcels, collecting warm clothes, blankets, thinking of ways of making space in their homes to shelter those fleeing war in Ukraine. I have not seen anything close to that level of humanity now.
"The situation in Sudan is *VERY* different to Ukraine".
The difference you’re mentioning is based on race. Period.
Just say the truth which is that you don’t want to give Africans the same basic humanitarian assistance that you give to white people
This time last year I was under anaesthetic half way through a life saving surgery.
Being operated on by two surgical teams for 15 hours.
I had no idea if I would wake up again, or if I would be here a year on. Today is one year of being completely cancer free. 💛

The damage created by a parent who is domineering, unaccepting and emotionally unsupportive is far greater than being in a loving, safe home without that parent.

Since I was a child I have seen this dehumanising narrative play out. My father would always say 'pay attention to who is considered worth being alive and who is not'. Again and again they hold us in this cycle.

During chemo I saw many men berate their wives for not doing 'something right'. I saw men storm out of the ward, leaving weeping partners. My abuser ex messaged me during an infusion to make threats and I had to attend court hearings after doses, on the same day.

Yes. 😪 As we got older we shared out the loads, as a teen my back was in agony, so what it would be like after several children. People truly do not understand the physical load of running a home or living in poverty.
He has to go into isolation for a few weeks afterwards so there is the matter of not losing that bed or room, or impacting someone else's treatment.
This is also unnecessary pressure, again, on the NHS.
The replies to my tweet on my OWN TL. A student at this particular uni died, only days ago.
They are all grieving. They are in pain. It is not manipulation or shutting down national 'debate' to point out there are real world consequences.
If you don't like it don't read my TL.

I feel sick. They can get into the job having abused people and stay in a job having abused people. This time children. Which is no surprise considering all the school strip searching, but my stomach is still really churning reading about this one.
My dad is waiting to hear from his team for the final decision. He is still having his injections everyday as they are doing all they can to make it happen this coming week.
This is me.

This is what it looks like when you lose a body part to try to stay alive.
As someoneone who had cancer surgery and a transplant myself not too long ago, I remember how much it took to ensure all the teams were aligned timewise.
Final day on the chemo ward. All kinds of emotions passing through me. 20 body destroying rounds of chemo, 18 sessions of immunotherapy which I was allergic to, and needed close supervision. The nurses who have been their all the way through have been incredible.

RSA members were not informed of this event. First there are staff strikes due to pay and other areas they are failing.
Now they show all their members they claim to represent who they truly care for and will fight for?

There are a lot of children getting chicken pox for the 2nd time in my 11yr olds year group. I cannot remember this being the case as a kid or with my older kids. Do you think covid has triggered this immune response?
@JolyonMaugham
My youngest as 2yrs old was taken aside by airport security, as I was taken by other guards to be searched, and was frisked. Her cuddly toy was ripped from her hands, and checked and scanned, while she cried. My now ex, a white man, was allowed through beforehand with no bother.
Home Office has - rightly - clarified it won’t be taking any action against Sir Mo Farah as result of his revelations tonight. “No action whatsoever will be taken against Sir Mo."
I just got yelled at on the bus in front of my 13 year old son by a woman calling me a "p*ki n%@@&r whore cancer" who was a drain on her society, who should give her a seat because I should be dead.
Emotional abuse is not reserved for romantic relationships only. It can be your parents, your siblings, your children, friends or colleagues. One of the hardest things about extracting yourself from it is the fact it can be insidious, slow burning, eating away at your thoughts,
I speak about my own pain in order to ensure others know they are not alone, and they do not deserve the treatment they receive at the hands of the Met police.
I've muted this for the sole purpose that some of you lack critical thinking skills, and do not recognise that first line being facetious, as it is the first thing people say to me when I speak about violence against women.
the scale of destruction is staggering
In the 1948 Nakba 750,000 were ethnically cleansed
In 2023 Gaza 1.7 million have been ethnically cleansed
The whole of Gaza is intentionally being made uninhabitable
This is not normal. We shouldn't be watching war crime after war crime day after day on our screens without anybody even trying to stop it. This is barbaric Nazi shit.
The rush of people defending Brand before hearing what the allegations are is no surprise. I have seen what happens first hand, when you speak out,and a flurry of people shut you down and smear you for doing so.

Everytime I see this my heart swells. The way they both look at each other, the connection. I used to do this with all 3 of my kids when they were little. We would chat away in the park or on the bus and people would be very intrigued and ask if they were really talking. 😂
@profdanhicks
I was told not to apply to art school, I went to Central St Martin's after applying on my own. My daughter was told not to pin her hopes on Oxford. She is finishing her 3rd year there in 2 weeks. The gatekeeping to keep certain social groups out has indeed a very deep history.
Before my cancer diagnosis a friend of mine was going through treatment. We would meet regularly to talk about her fears, her hopes, the aspects of life that do not stop and continue to need attention.
I cannot begin to explain how many people I fell out with over the last election. My view was we vote for those who are more vulnerable than us, our society is the sum of those we leave behind not the few who lift themselves up.
I don’t want ever want to hear “let’s not judge people on their political beliefs” ever again, this country’s vote literally just resulted in children going hungry over Christmas and I’m meant to respect you?
A very good breakdown of all the machinations abusers go through to silence their victims. They are not original, but people are still willing to go with them time and time again.
I'm muting this as all I've seen is people making up stories, being abusive, projecting, paying for Twitter blue, and their TL's showing they only care about the safety of women when it is white women. Gross.

You do not believe women when they tell you what your officers are doing. You actively tell us we are lying. Do not continue to treat us as though we cannot see what you are.

Coming from the family background he comes from, having had the privileges he has had, to then show us all that it is not entertaining him enough is quite something.
Oh yes, it is racism.

It’s now been redefined as a privilege, dispensed by police forces dripping with contempt for democracy.
New column:
During my cancer treatment I remember feeling really upset about the room filled with pink prosthetic breasts. The person asking me to choose one had no comprehension of how painful the entire situation was.
Why are medial patches and prosthetics only made with white people in mind? Even when the products are mass manufactured in Asia. We need to be demanding better. 🩹
@thenitinsawhney
This is how abusers speak. They go round in circles with an entitled air of arrogance always insisting that you are either not answering their questions or are being evasive. Repulsive behaviour.
and their inability to recognise their own behaviours. There are people claiming they would stand by the victim, but who I personally found, would not as the rapist was their friend.

He is being incredibly patient here. I feel really stressed seeing how close and over bearing they are all being and want to push them away.

Fast colours was beautiful. A story about generational conflict in a family of women.
Little monsters was the first time I have seen a Black woman, Lupita Nyong'o, in a role usually saved for English rose types with no reference to her race.
This makes my stomach churn. Each time I have been told to watch my tone it is by a white person who was projecting away from their inappropriate behaviour or actions.
There is nothing in Dr Rosena Allin- Khan tone that needs rectifying. My Hancock however has alot to hide.
I will respectfully challenge the Government - I want our country to succeed.
However, I will not 'watch my tone' when dozens of NHS and care staff are dying unnecessarily.
A clip of my Q to the Health Sec today.
I can safely say it was the shutting down of youth clubs, sexual health clinics, boxing clubs, community centres, music facilities, and general spaces to hang out the moment Cameron came into government that let our 'youths' down .

Just like Ashton and Mila the belief that no-one will ever know what they said or did to aid an abusive person while smearing and ostracizing a victim is quite remarkable. If you are willing to have your name in court documents be clear that it will be available to the public.
