My father was in that battle-in the Ardennes Forest, Christmas 1944. At 20 yrs/23 days, he was much younger than the average US combat soldier in WWII, which was 26 yrs of age.
He was a rifleman with the 358th infantry regiment, 90th infantry division, 3rd Army. Lived 1924-1992.
