Guys ... I'm watching League of Ireland of a Friday night, I've watched (in person or online) every Kerry FC game so far. I wouldn't have been a League of Ireland man before, but it's really enjoyable having a local side to follow
This is the GAA version of the dress. Really struggling to understand the people who see this as Cantwell being unfair to the giant ego in the grandfather shirt
"Of course you must have secondary competitions"
Dónal Óg Cusack addressed his recent remarks about the Tailteann Cup with Joanne Cantwell ahead of today's Munster SHC fixtures

Been doing this job for 13 years now and have to say some of the best, most memorable days in that time have been from following the hurlers. Today was one of great days following the hurlers. Super performance from a great bunch of lads, deservedly getting their day in Croker
The worst thing about that disrespectful shitetalk from David Hickey this morning is that he has no clue what Mayo have done for this Dublin team. More than anyone Mayo have validated Dublin. The failure alone to see that tells you all you need to know

How good has Tommy Walsh been so far this year? Serious credit to him and to Micheál Quirke and everybody who's helped him get back to this level. He's so strong and fit and sharp looking at the minute. Looks like he's got a pair of after burners added too. Delighted for him
Kerry V Clare Big Screen at Austin Stacks GAA

We should do a North South Erasmus type thing maybe in secondary school. Most of us, myself included, haven't spent any time there at all
Minister Eamon Ryan was repeatedly heckled (at some volume) by independent Danny Healy-Rae as he spoke about the Climate Action bill today, as the Dáil sat in the convention centre.
I really don't get bringing the club championships to the semi final and final stage and parking them for at least a month instead of getting on and finishing them 🤷 kinda undermines the integrity of the competition imo. Teams have momentum now... Get on with it
It's saying something that on a day when David Clifford kicked seven of the most exquisite points from play you'll ever see, we all left Fitzgerald Stadium talking about one man: Bryan Sheehan. The man is a phenomenon. A pleasure to watch him at work

📞"Everyone should have freedom of speech, EXCEPT THOSE I DON'T AGREE WITH." 😡
"Gary Bloody Lineker lost the Brexit war in 2016. Freedom of speech does NOT extend to political prisoners!"
Colin from Portsmouth wants
@GaryLineker
to stay out of politics and stick to football.
Super season by Kerry. They can be proud of themselves and Kerry people can be proud of them. Played great stuff. Showed nerves of steel. Showed indefatigability so many times to come back in games. They'll be back. They'll learn. They'll win.

The combination of Hurricane-force F12 gust & spring tide makes
#StormBrendan
a dangerous storm. Orange alerts in place but I’m with Red on this one ⚠️🌬🚩
There's something so beautiful about the flight of this ball, which was struck by Kerry great Bryan Sheehan.
Thanks to Fintan Herlihy for sharing it on.
I don't have kids, so this will probably get me hung drawn and quartered, but if at all possible please do not bring your kids to the supermarket, do not let them run around like little lunatics, do not let them bump right into members of staff, do not let them paw stock
Easily the worst year I can recall for media access has been capped by the news that Kerry won't be organising any press briefing of any description ahead of the All Ireland semi final. You'd really wonder what do the GAA's sponsors nationally and on a county level make of it?
Anybody else think we've lost a sense of occasion from the GAA in the last two seasons? The build up to these two All Ireland hurling semi-finals has felt fairly low key all week. We've lost something special with this condensed calendar (that achieves very little)

At what point does Labour start seeing some love in the polls? They're head and shoulders above the rest of the opposition on just about every issue at the minute
Seven years in, this is a famine. Kinda fooled ourselves into not thinking it as such because of the minors and potential etc since say 2018, but make no mistake this is a famine
Killian Young has retired. A super footballer and an integral part of the Kerry panel for over a decade. Will always remember him up the back of a flat bed truck in Ardfinnan collecting the Munster U21 Cup after beating Tipperary. Four All Irelands later he bows out. Class act
Diarmuid O'Connor is a Rolls Royce of a footballer. The performance he gave against Legion in Stack Park this evening was hugely exciting from a Kerry point of view. Whatever it is, he has it
#GAA
Have the fixture makers in Croke Park ever been to Kerry or Mayo? To Ballinskelligs or Achill? Seems like consistently Kerry get the most awkward possible slot for games on Jones Road...
There's an unwarranted focus in a lot of the coverage of the Kerry Babies story today on somebody who's been proven to have had absolutely nothing to do with Baby John. Leave her out if it for god's sake
Kerry "incredibly reliant" on the two Cliffords - Cavanagh: Former Tyrone star Sean Cavanagh believes Kerry's reliance on the Clifford brothers could see them caught out in their All-Ireland SFC defence next year.
If Kerry GAA are serious about the district sides giving them no preparation whatsoever and pitching them in against battle hardened club sides ain't the way to go. Having club semi finals a week before the SFC round 1 is frankly ridiculous and insulting to districts.
Back from Mullingar. Absolutely brilliant day for Kerry hurling. So hard to choose a man of the match from of the match. Maybe Eric Leen though, man was lion-hearted again today again. Kerry's fate very much in their own hands now. Top of the group after two rounds
Rewatched the minor match. Think I'm gonna have to go with Darragh Rahilly as my man of the match actually, won eight kick-outs (five in the first half when Kerry were under the cosh round the middle) and kicked three points from play. That's just a massive contribution

Watching sport on TV is the be assaulted constantly by adverts for god-damned betting companies. We'll look back on this in a few years and realise we were absolutely off our rockers yo allow it. Think of how weird it would be to see tobacco advertising now, it's basically that
Kerry GAA should source land and build a few of these around the county instead of wasting €70-100m on a stadium unlikely to be filled more than every couple of years
Great shot of new full size astro in
@ClarecastleGAA
Looking forward to first competitive match under lights this evening when Clarecastle face Scariff-Ogonnelloe in the Under 16B Hurling Championship Quarter-Final replay
Most of the money for these projects is public money and even if it's FAI money it's not like it's John Delaney's money. Delaney is not fucking Oprah. This pseudo clientism appeals to MHR who takes credit and votes from people for 'getting' them what they're already entitled to
After a three-minute love letter from Michael Healy-Rae to John Delaney, Ruth Coppinger tells him: 'I'm sure there are grants heading down the Kerry way... You're an embarrassment.'
€72m... Which would probably end up well over €100m by the time the project is complete. I really can't see a justification for that kind of money being spent tbh. Even accounting for the pandemic when was it last sold out?
Look at France there building for the World Cup with a 22 year old 10... Does anybody honestly believe Billy Burns is a potential 10 for us in 2023 (or Jonny Sexton too for that matter)? So what are we at? Genuine question
The goal against Armagh in 06 is probably the defining Darran O'Sullivan moment. Explosive and direct, he was a super servant for the Green and Gold. Enjoy your retirement 👏
#GAA
Aside from the goal - which was classic Geaney - thought Paul was really important in getting Kerry back on track tonight. Showed real hunger, desire and leadership, took it on, kept his head, inspired the rest. Class act down the stretch
#GAA
Would love to see Dáithí Casey back on the bench. He'd be such a great option for Kerry in the last twenty minutes of games. Showed his game management and intelligence in the league, saved Kerry at least once
#GAA
Looks like Mikey Geaney has retired (?), but nothing on Kerry website or Twitter as of yet, but a tweet from the family bar is a pretty good indication... A good footballer, always gave it everything, had some very good days in green and gold 👏
Maybe if he'd fairly tore into virus suppression and proper public health measures we wouldn't have the longest, and one of the most stringent, lockdowns anywhere in the world?
Tánaiste fairly tears into ZeroCovid - says it’s as much a slogan as a strategy to some people.
He says he wants to see tougher interrogation of the advocates for it on what exactly they want.
Taoiseach comes in and says ZeroCovid means a much longer lockdown than we have now.
Okay so that was something by Kerry. Brilliant, ballsy, aggressive stuff from Kerry. David Moran lording it. Geaney back on form. Fifteen points in a half of football is fair clipping. This team has just announced its arrival

Tis rare enough I feel the need to quote Coco Chanel, but looking at this over designed jersey this comes to mind: "Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance.”
Hard to envisage this statement being made had the County Board thanked Peter for his service to the county last week when they should have done to be honest with you:
Peter Keane is, for me, the outstanding candidate to replace Fitzmaurice. He's done well at every team he's managed and his minor teams have been a joy to watch. They're so well coached (Tommy Griffin has a big role to play too) plus knows the young guys better than anybody

There are far too few Senior clubs in Kerry. County champions and three in a row senior club winners, Austin Stacks, being in a relegation playoff is a complete absurdity. Something needs to be done
First time I saw Joe Canning in the flesh was against Cork in a qualifier in Thurles. This very loud Galway fan behind me kept roaring that "there's only one Joeeeeeee"... He was right. No show like a Joe show. Laoch.
Top, top class footballer. Everybody in Duagh has taken immense pleasure from your career and successes, Anthony. All Ireland winner and All Star, deserved it all.
