Small private schools that don’t typically send athletes to major Division I programs often fail to recognize the value of such opportunities. When one of their athletes reaches that level or is simply just offered the opportunity, it sends a powerful message to the entire school community: it’s possible to achieve success right here where I am at. This helps retain more student-athletes in your hallways and athletic programs—an essential factor for schools that depend on strong enrollment numbers to keep the lights on.
