We are seeking a motivated Postdoc to work on the molecular interaction between maize and common rust. It will be a fun project to collaborate with University of Wyoming and North Carolina State University. 🌽
My sixth time to attend the MPMI conference since 2009. It has shaped me as a MPMI person
@ISMPMI
. I finally had an opportunity to give a talk and was honored to be there. As a junior faculty, I felt totally different than I was a student or postdoc. Hope it is a good sign. 🌽👩🏻🔬
I was awarded the DEPP Award for excellence😉. I have been enjoying teaching graduate students as a guest lecturer and collaborating with amazing people at NC state since 2017. Want to say to thank to Peter and to all my friends!

I found this rust in rye in the backyard farm back of the PLSH today. I am not sure if that is Puccinia recondita or Puccinia triticina. How to distinguish? 🧐
I went to
@SchnableLab
field in Havelock with

this morning. We have seen common rust (left) and southern rust (right) in some of inbred line and hybrid line. I was really excited to see them in Lincoln. Thank you for showing all rust pathogens!

Since I started working as an assistant professor on Feb. 1st, I have felt that I can work with thoughtful people at UNL. I was afraid of starting a new life in Lincoln and wasn't sure if I could make friends. However, everything seems to be going well. Definitely a good sign🍀
