I have two diagnosed DSDs and I just got dropped by my three providers. Alongside punishing trans Floridians, they have now included intersex people and are refusing us life-saving care. If I run out of my hormones, my body is going to experience extremely detrimental effects.

What I’m gathering is that I am entitled to all government benefits such as SSI or medicaid, but I do not have an inherent eligibility for disability benefits

Unfortunately, I don’t believe it is listed in the ADA bluebook as it isn’t considered a disability. I’m currently doing research into my options (legal and medical) and it’s a lot of shit I don’t understand 😵💫

Nonbinary is part of the trans umbrella. It’s literally as simple as “I label myself as something that is not the same as my birth sex’s label”. If I was severely beaten and ended up dying the next day, that’s literally a battery charge to homicide.

Sure. I was subjected to medically unnecessary surgeries, but nowadays I tend to be outright insulted, or spoken to like a freak. My IDs don’t reflect my sex, which causes a lot of problems when scheduling new appointments. It’s hard navigating my care when I know so little :(

There simply isn’t a lot of information about people like me out there because A), underrepresented and underreported in the population and B), not much in terms of research. The gist is to try and assimilate identified children into one of two sexes, even if its the opposite one

Speaking for myself, my providers were mainly nurse practitioners, and it is illegal for them to prescribe hormones for hrt now. My doctor dropped me in order to “make adjustments to care in lieu of policy changes”, but I don’t really buy it. I’m 22, not a child!

I disagree— I don’t think needing to have sex is inherently believing you’re owed it, but it is an important aspect of relationship development. If your partner and you can’t compromise, then that relationship probably won’t go anywhere. I think that’s what Ralph meant /lh
