I'll be honest the series handles rape and trauma pretty well. But unfortunately it often gets used as shock horror in order to show how "evil and inhumane" the monsters are.

ohmygod I was literally dying when the entire fandom kept saying humanizing them in the film was a good choice, like no dude they're completely different characters at that point. That fort scene killed me, along with the movie's bad lighting, for a series with great lighting. 😔
