Did this wrong my whole life… Got to tread, learned a thing or two and applied it. 2 mph jump in 3 weeks. And I haven’t even perfected it yet.
Why is back leg tension important for pitchers?🧐 Removing slack from the entire back side (foot, knee & hip) winds the lower half spring and gives the pelvis something to unload (rotate) against. Without tension there is no stability and the upper half will take over.

Really enjoyed having my guy @claykennedy25 in-house at @TreadHQ for a few weeks. We got some great work in and he left with a whole new level of confidence. Clay is an absolute workhorse. No way he does not succeed. Watch out for him this year at @BUKnightsBSB

Teaching guys to turn tension in the arm on/off is very tricky. They just have to feel it one way or another. This is the best drill I’ve found to capture that feeling (at least in terms of translating it to the mound)
Pendulum throws - a feel to work on capturing the momentum of the arm swing, relaxing the arm into deep retraction. Alternate it with a standard or glove tap delivery. "It just feels so good when you time it up right" - @CraigStem, resident 98+ mph Tread coach.

Your pulldown PR doesn’t matter. Your squat PR doesn’t matter. Your bullpen velo doesn’t matter. Your trackman #’s don’t matter. What matters is what you do with the ball when the lights come on & the game is on the line. Everything else is secondary. Performance is the goal.
