The offending article has been taken down but I haven’t seen any signs of an apology from either the author or the publisher.

There was “Let’s Parler Franglais” by Miles Kington in the 1980s, but there was also “Fractured French“ by F.S. Pearson three decades earlier. (Fractured French features gems like "Mise en scene" = "There are mice in the river".)

Trebuchet is a good font for people with dyslexia, and it looks more elegant than Comic Sans. It also displays correctly on Apple mobile devices, whereas Comic Sans is usually replaced by the script font Snell Roundhand.
Happy anniversary,

, and congratulations to

for keeping his endeavour going for so long. To mark the occasion, I’ve chosen one of the beautiful illustrations that James created for ‘The Boy and the Cloth of Dreams‘ by Jenny Koralek.

@Indiegogo
The Indiegogo site merely says that "Agents of H.A.G. Comic Book" is "under review" and "not accepting contributions". It says nothing about the campaign having been canceled. Why do they think it's OK to behave like this?👎
@Rainmaker1973
It works for me, but only if I’m careful not to shift my gaze at all. It’s easier with the image from the linked Wikipedia page, where there’s a cross to focus on.

That reminds me of the boy hearing the biblical story about Lot’s wife looking back and turning into a pillar of salt, prompting him to remark, “That’s nothing! When my mother looked back while she was driving me home from school, she turned into a lamppost.”

Also from a maternity ward, as related by the junior doctor in question:
Doctor: What are you going to call him?
Mother-to-be: I quite like the name Gooey that I read in a Mills & Boon novel.
Doctor: How do you spell it?
Mother-to-be: G-U-Y.

From the linked article: “It's all lubricated using dry soap or candle wax, which can be pretty effective lubricants when used with wood.”

The Twitter bird is a carefully thought out geometrical construction by a graphic artist. The 𝕏 is nothing more than the Unicode character U+1D54F, or MATHEMATICAL DOUBLE-STRUCK CAPITAL X.
@LaymansLinguist
Here in the Central Belt of Scotland there’s a very old joke about the past tense of "go". When a boy laments “I wish I hadnae goed!" his mother responds with "Ye mean ye wish to Goed ye hadnae went!!"

Teeny tiny towel that looked like one of the amuse bouche. Utterly hilarious. Didn’t honk the papers would pick up my tweets though. 😂

That ‘Drafts’ icon looks to me like a standard document icon. If it were the beginnings of a paper plane it would have the corner folded all the way to the middle.

A quick search of the Interwebs reveals that Herbert Morrison was preceded by George Lansbury as Chairman of the Labour Party. Oliver Postgate and Angela Lansbury were two of George Lansbury’s grandchildren (and therefore each other’s first cousins).
