My kids are adults and at some point every parent has to start looking at their grown children as other adult humans and not just their adult children. Adults do adult things that we don’t always agree with and it’s not always our business.

Just about every morning at around 4am he jumps on the bed and hits my eyes with his paw. If I roll over he walks over my head and does it again. If I put the pillow over my head he licks my hands. He has an automatic feeder. Honestly, he's a 17-pound loveable jerk.

I'm more likely to die from tripping over my dog that is constantly underfoot than I am from this virus. I still have the dog...it makes no sense to throw the baby out with the bathwater. If not a virus, there will be something else around the corner. It's just a part of life.

I live in "rural America" and my hunting dog who can't hunt and won't walk on a leash is still alive and well sound asleep in her bed. I also have a cat that won't kill a mouse if his life depended on it. Apparently, I live a failed rural American life by her standards.

Do you know what’s not normal? Shooting a 14 month old dog when there are plenty of rehoming options around or when you have the means to have something handled humanely. It’s also not normal too write about it for the world to read.

I had Covid 8 weeks ago & lost both. My smell changed a week in - then I could only smell very foul things. Now I can get a whiff of most things when they are very close to my nose but can smell only bad smells from a distance & taste isn’t what it was. Frustrating.

Oh. I had grueling labor in the heat, it resulted in one of 4 babies, all after working all day, &with only 5 years between the oldest and youngest. Also a perimenopausal woman who is not happy with hot flashes has plenty of lung capacity to set him straight.

I didn't get to live it up when I was young and struggling either. Now I am older and don't have kids to at home to support and can do more. Isn't some of this just how life works? I'm GenX, not a boomer, not wealthy. I also raised 4 kids and ate at home when they were at home.

And to be fair there is an expectation of the use of smoke detectors with the hope that this isn’t arson. Is continually saving the lives of people in burning buildings that were intentionally set on fire by people who could help prevent the fire is what most sign up for?
