Hey
@TheRock
I am a PE teacher in Indiana and have been making workout videos for my students to do at home. Any chance you would want to help me out and make a 20-25 minute workout to share with my students? I will provide you with a Whiteland Track and Field shirt for your time
Will just ran a 9:06 in the 3200 here at Indiana Wesleyan to win against two very good competitors. His PR before today was 9:22....... hard work wins!
Big night for me personally tonight as I was inducted into the Decatur Central Athletic Hall of Fame. Got a chance to see some of my old teachers, coaches and teammates and talk about some great memories. (And yes I decided to put on a Hawks shirt for one last time:)
Here is Luke Edward Bangel. Born at 10:09 this morning and weighed 8lbs 7oz. Mom and baby are doing great. Two proud big sisters as well. Life is good👍
Sorry
@EvanFruits
but Will Jefferson just set a new school record in the 800 (with an untied shoe the last lap). Unofficially 1:55 and won against some good comp. Will now owns every school record 800 meters and up!
If anyone asks how my weekend was on Monday these pictures pretty much sum it up. Out of 8 events Warrior athletes either tied or broke 6 school records. We had 4 All-State athletes, 1 runner-up finish and 1 state champion!

Girls state qualifiers being honored in our traditional parade. Again, people don’t understand the support we get here at WCHS. Last day of school, a million other things going on, and our admin made it happen.
Will’s official time comes in at 8:56.15. Officially shattering his old school record of 9:18. Not sure where that puts him nationally, but sub 9:00 is ELITE.
Introducing your 2019 Mid-State Conference champions with 154 points and a total team effort. That makes 3 in the last 4 years for the boys program! Couldn’t be more proud.
I am fortunate to work at a place that supports track and field at every level. Our custodians made sure the hallways were clean so we could have try outs today without slipping everywhere. I can sense the jealously of track coaches all over the US.

Wow. Crazy that the kid that ran 9.98 a few weeks ago in the 100 also runs on the 4 x 400 (44.7 split..... not too shabby). I believe this again helps make my point that all you “100/200” kids out there are capable of putting together a good 4 x 4 leg. 🤷♂️
Houston Strake Jesuit, behind a 44.7 anchor split from Matthew Boling, finished the UIL Track and Field Championships with a US No. 1 time of 3:10.56 in the Class 6A 4x400
Strake Jesuit finished the team standings second overall
I don’t usually post stuff like this but I found out this afternoon I am being inducted into the
@DCHS_Athletics
Hall of Fame next fall. I am honored to go in with some great athletes and will always be proud to have attended Decatur Central. Brings back a lot of great memories.
Bella ended up clearing 5’ 9” and had three outstanding jumps at 5’ 10”. She will finish as your IHSAA as the state runner up in the high jump. She has battled through a stress fracture and recently a broken nose and still rose to the occasion.
Here is a little blast from the past. Thought some people may enjoy seeing some pictures of me competing in high school. Seems like yesterday (but it was almost 20 years ago).
Will J with mentor Coach Emerson after his official 12th place finish in a new school record of 9:22.42. Proud of this kid and excited to see what the next two years will bring for him.
When you win your first conference meet in 10 years you celebrate with Dairy Queen! Championships are hard to win and should be celebrated accordingly.

Track coach by night.... country dad by day. We had matching flannel shirts on but I had to take mine off (too dang hot walking up hills with a 3 year old on my shoulders). Being a coach is the 2nd best job in the world. Being a dad is a clear number 1!
Here are your 9 state finalist for the 2021 season. The Warriors will be represented in at least five (possibly 7) events at the state meet. The girls team officially finished 4th as a team.
Excited to see Ryder Emberton celebrated for being the 1st (and only at this point) track and field state champ at WCHS. Congrats on a great career that included being a state champion and shot put and finishes runner up and third place in the discus.

Will Jefferson starts the day off very strong here in Louisville. His 2 mile (not 3200 meter) time of 9:09 wins and is currently a U.S. number 3 for all indoor meets! He will come back and run the mile around noon.
The weight room has been reorganized, racks are set and bolted down, programs have been written…… now it is time to start the work. Looking forward to seeing
@WWarriorFB
on Wednesday morning for my 1st athletic development session as the strength coach here at WCHS!
In her first collegiate indoor meet
@bellajackson_
finishes 2nd at IU and sets a new school record for Lipscomb clearing 5’ 7.75” in the high jump. So proud of this girl and excited to see what happens the next four years.
Here is the final 100 meters for your REGIONAL CHAMPION in the 3200 meter run. Will Jefferson breaks his own school record again by 7 seconds and crushes the field on the final lap. Way to go kid.
Easily the best part about being a coach is getting to see “kids” grow up to be adults. So happy for Taylor (Coffman) Stevenson for the beginning of the next chapter of her life. Thanks for inviting me to be part of your special day.
Here is a picture of your sectional champion 4 x 400 relay. Not sure if Whiteland has ever won the sectionals in this relay..... but if they did it was a long, long time ago.

Just got word from Coach Emerson that today Will Jefferson beat a loaded field at Columbus North and destroyed our old school Defoe by running 15:28 (old record was 15:41). Congrats Will!!!!!
Just in case anyone was wondering..... I am currently in my basement with my 3 kids. One is driving a toy ice cream truck while my dog barks relentlessly, the other is yelling into a karaoke machine as loudly as she can, and the 3rd is beating on a drumset. Top that... I dare you
And the best race of the night goes to Jagroop Singh. Came back to Whiteland and wanted one more chance to break 1:00 in the 400. Went 59.80 for a lifetime PR. And a memory I will likely never forget. This is why I love coaching.
#tracknation
It has been an absolute pleasure to coach Bella the past four years. I wish her nothing but that best of luck the next four years as she competes for
@LipscombXCTF
You guys are getting one of the best athletes and young ladies I have ever coached.
Huge congrats Will. This is what happens when you dig down deep and train when no one else wants to. A lot of people have probably made excuses the past 3-4 months..... Obviously Will isn’t one of them. Proud of you!!!
Congratulations to
@willjefferson
Will Jefferson for breaking the Whiteland Mile record set back in 1979 by Marc Adams. Will just ran a 4:17 mile at IWU.
Bella is up and over 5’ 6”. She is the only competitor to make that height so she is your Mid-West meet of Champions winner in the high jump!!!!! Bar is still going up but what a great end to a phenomenal career!
Huge congrats to
@willjefferson_
for officially SHATTERING the 44 year old 1600 meter run school record. He finished 5th in the Miracle mile but ran 4:12.43 for a full mile. That will convert to somewhere around 4:10-4:11 for 1600 meters.
#heisfast
I always love how safety conscious all high school kids become when there is .5” of snow and they want a 2 hour delay. We live in Indiana people. If you can’t drive in a little snow you may want to make like a goose and migrate south. I get a good laugh every single time it snows
Sometimes you get text from athletes that just remind you why you do what you do. Today was one of those days. So fortunate to have the best profession in the world.
11 years ago when I started coaching at Whiteland I darn near had to beg kids to practice on Friday. Now we have to run kids out at 5:00. Oh how things can change.
Sorry for the super late tweet but Bella ended up finishing 5th place in the STATE of INDIANA in the 300 hurdles!!!!! (My phone died at the meet). So incredibly proud of her.
Easily the best purchase I have ever made as a high school teacher. I kind of enjoy watching students squirm as they turn their phones into “phone jail” at the beginning of class. Thought a couple students were going to have withdrawals but they made it.
On a normal year the boys and girls track teams would have started battling for the Mid-State conference championship today at 5:30. Days like these really make me realize how much I miss coaching. Here is a little flashback to last year!
Today is my wife’s birthday. I had practice with Bella this morning and have been at the state track meet for Will since 4:00. Being a coach is hard, being a coaches wife is harder. I am so lucky to have someone that supports my crazy job and my late night rants about my team!
Warrior alumni, if you need a place to train this summer send me a message. I will make sure you have a place to continue getting better while you are in college. I want to accommodate all Warrior athletes (current and former). It’s a great summer to get better!
Rankings don’t mean a whole lot to me, but for the first time in history your Whiteland Girls’ Track Team is ranked in the top 20! There is a lot of work left to do, but it is nice to see that others recognize the growth of our program. Now the real test is to finish ⬆️ in June
My first full week as strength coach is complete. It has been a great week with all groups. Coaches and athletes have bought in 100% and we are ready to roll for the rest of the summer.
I can honestly say this is a birthday I will remember for a long, long time. Coaching is harder than most people realize…… moments like this remind me why I do it. Proud to be a part of this team!
Unfortunately today the IHSAA has to announce that the spring sports season is officially cancelled. My heart goes out to all of the athletes, especially seniors, that have lost the end of their school year and track season. I will send out more details on HUDL and email later.
So here is a combination you don’t see everyday. Future Warrior (8th grader) Addison Emberton broke the school record in the discus and the 100 hurdles tonight. 😳. Sorry Johnson County and Mid-State conference another Emberton is on the way.
For the first time in my coaching career I am not at our meet. Spent the night dancing with my daughters at their father-daughter dance. Just got word that Matthew Wray broke
@djimmonogega
’s school record in the 200 with a time of 22.18. Smoking fast for a sophomore.
Huge congrats to Coach Dan Rector for getting his first head coaching job. All guys
@RushvilleHigh
should consider playing football next year because you won’t find a better person/leader for your program.... and we promise he won’t pull a Josh McDaniels on you😂
Girls 4 x 800 meter relay destroys their own school record to finish in 2nd place and will advance to the state finals. Great legs by Tori, Katia, Claire and an absolute monster anchor leg by Lauren Fish.
#statebound
So incredibly proud of this group. Competed to the absolute best of their ability and finally got us over the hump. First title for the girls in 10 years!
