@palffynyi16 By that logic there will be 27-28 teams wasting money over the next 3 years. They get a really good player with intangibles to make them very competitive in a transition phase and they’re not getting his bad years. AAV is irrelevant when ur at a sub 200M payroll

@palffynyi16 I agree but they're under the luxury tax and it doesn't prevent them from making a big splash the next 2 offseasons. They did what they needed to get the deal done and it's actually best for their team

@palffynyi16 It is, but these short term deals overpay guys. It's a really good deal for both sides. Bregman gets a big pay day and will still get another multi-year contract after this. Boston gets a really solid player to lead their young guys while they make no money.

@DynoDangle @golfops1 But they're certainly trending in the right direction in terms of revamping the defense but there needs to be change, specifically on the right side.

@DynoDangle @golfops1 This is relatively accurate which is exactly why analytics are a tool. Now it's not nearly perfect but it gives a general idea of how they've played. You take this data, then watch the games and then formulate opinions. That's the whole point and it gets misunderstood.

@IslesHouse If Nelson were to be extended, what is the likelihood Pageau gets traded?

@PizzaSportsGuy It is and always will be a regular pie/slice. But whatever people want to call it, I really didn’t want to see this on twitter today. Now I’m hungry for pizza and I’m over 1000 miles away from a legit NY slice. Thanks PSG, appreciate it.

Brock Nelson asked on whether he wants to remain in NY: "I want what's best for me, my family and team and everything. There's a lot of factors that go into it. I know everybody wants an answer right now. That's not how the world works. You don't always get what you want. ..."

@DynoDangle It is very hard to win without this level of goalie but it is also very hard to build a team with a goalie making this money, especially when you have no cheap young players to offset it.

@palffynyi16 @DynoDangle He's not 3 million dollars better but until Sorokin can be as consistent as he is in both regular season and playoffs, Shesterkin will always be ahead. Now he's played in front of better teams and 2 years ago they were neck and neck. Not sure they are anymore

@DynoDangle It's playstyle and his strengths and weaknesses. The contract will only be good if the roster in front is a legit 100 point team, otherwise we're going to see these hills and valleys we've seen and it'll frustrate everyone

@DynoDangle His ability to takeover a game is almost unparalleled. He can make a highlight reel save multiple times when he's on. He can be that good. But he falls into the tier that's more dependent on other factors and he can be as high as 4 or as low as 8 depending on year/what's valued

@DynoDangle @Ajsoti @IslesDen @jacques_jams They'll either throw analytics out completely because of it's flawed or they'll double down on the analytics. It's why it's supposed to be a tool. The pro scouts have a good understanding of this. Some orgs favor one over the other which is why you see certain decisions.
