I love this book.
I am astounded at the number of people online that are scared to read it themselves.
It truly testifies of Christ. I invite anyone to read it for themselves. This book, as a companion to the bible, can change your life.
The Holy Bible tells the story and life of Jesus and his disciples in an amazing way.
The Book of Mormon is a companion to the Bible by testifying of Christ and clarifying biblical beliefs perfectly.
If you haven't read it, please do so. It will testify to you of Christ.

We cannot prove that he woke up that day and planned to go out and kill George Floyd before the call ever came in. That is 1st degree. We cannot prove that, he get acquitted, not convicted. We want 2nd degree. Convict him.
Time it took to write:
Harry Potter (book 1): 6 years
The LOTR: 12 years
Les Mis: 12 years
The Book of Mormon translation: 65 working days (out of 90 days).
Learned that in Sunday School today.

?"What are we fighting for Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for." <3 Applicable to us now and always!
My son blessed the Sacrament for his first time today. I cannot find the words. My joy is full. This is why I am a parent. To see this. I imagine Heavenly Father feels the same way when we do good things.
This is my grandpa.
He was called as mission president of New Zealand in the late 50s. He loved the Maori people more than anything all of his days. Upon his death in 2003 his home office was still filled with Maori books and pieces.
I love this man.
"I'd never met President McKay to that point; and on that first day of the dedication, I was walking down the corridor of the temple . . . A friend of mine caught me by the arm, and said, "Brother Simpson, step into this sealing room. I want you to meet someone."
Eternal families is one of the most important pieces of God's plan. You can't just say "let's not teach the YW about marriage and motherhood, because not everyone will get married." Marriage is THE plan! It should be taught as good and sought after.
Talk to the YW about marriage and finding a good spouse. It is an eternal principle. I am so frustrated of seeing posts about "don't teach them about finding a spouse, it's out dated, etc". on FB. Eternal principle. Teach it.
Last fall I received personal revelation in the temple. So did my daughter. The revelation we received has now come to pass. It has been incredibly difficult. Super hard trial for us.
At church today--tender mercy for me from the Lord. The spirit was very strong...so needed. 🔥
My daughter is being baptized on Saturday! I am giving the talk on baptism. Ideas/"object lessons"/gifts? Nana is speaking on the Holy Ghost and has a flashlight and a comforter to give her etc.
17 years ago today I made covenants with the Lord in the St. George Temple. I am so grateful for the blessings I enjoy because of keeping those covenants ❤️
I love that Elder Gong talked about focusing on the "new" Scrooge. The is about changing, and yet we won't stop focusing on the pre-repentant Scrooge. Same goes for the Grinch.
Resting from the world tonight. My 3 oldest are doing baptisms at the temple. One for her first time, and my son performing the baptismal ordinance for the first time. ❤️

Saw a FB post that said LDS people eat a lot of sugar because we don't drink any alcohol (to take the edge off), so we turn to sugar. As someone who does eat a ton of sugar, I find myself wondering how much truth is in that statement. 😆
When the prophet spoke about women knowing truth and error and standing for morality, without which everything will fall apart... Did anyone else feel like it is a last call to stand against the evils and immorality of our day? A great warning? Let's stand for right.

Yeah, that budget chart was a disgrace. It seems to me like, if you start giving more of the city budget into the schools and helping in the community, you would need less police budget in the future.
A post I made testifying of The Book of Mormon attracted some antis 🙄 I should limit comments in the future. Do I just block them? Ignore it? I don't want them to think I can't refute, but I just don't want to spend the energy on it.

I am speaking tomorrow. Trying hard to not care what impressions people get about me from my talk, but that the Lord allows my talk to bring the spirit to the people there to guide them and answer their prayers and testify of truth. I care too much about being liked.
I would like to know, if you as a faithful Latter-Day Saint, have had an increased push in the gospel lately: a push for family history, gospel teaching children, having dreams (no need to share them), etc. I've seen this online lately, retweet, and we can find out how far spread
Camp story with twist ending: A leader was helping some of us throw a "bra on the flag pole" prank. She didn't want to hurt feelings so I volunteered my own bra.

Daughter quiz at school:
Your friend wants you to go to a party that you are sure there will be alcohol at.
You:
A. Say no
B. Compromise
She picked say no. Apparently that was aggressive which was wrong and she should have picked B to be assertive. Are you kidding me???
So, I'm decided to weigh in on the whole modesty thing. For anyone interested with children, here is what kept me modest, and what could have been better. (Thread).

I could use some prayers this morning. I have a horrible migraine that has me really sick, but things to do with my kids that are very important to them.

This clarified it for me. I was always just told it was less than or not as severe as a sin. I like this clear definition.

It took some talking, and my husband pointing out it was a movie scene where someone had to announce that to the viewers, for me to recover. I never even cried while he was hospitalized. Healing comes in its own time for each of us. I know the Lord supported me and saved him./end

Hey, this is my church! This weekend, Saturday and Sunday, there is a huge world-wide conference that you can listen to online at this link. The prophet and apostles speak and testify of Christ. You should listen in!
It was stake conference weekend. I felt the spirit and made precious notes.
My oldest son received his patriarchal blessing this morning. It was beautiful. My heart is full.
Have a holy sabbath ❤️
20 years ago, today 2 of my brothers were in a serious car accident. Both survived, although we were nervous one would not. I'm grateful for that blessing.
18 years ago, today I flew to Utah be endowed and sealed. I'm grateful for that.
An anniversary of blessings.
18 years ago today my husband and I were sealed in the St. George temple. Best choice I ever made. He is a wonderful father, a great man, and makes me laugh all the time! (Sorry, y'all only get to see my half of the photos! Trust me, he's hot!)
Conference comes at the end of this month! Signs of the last days are picking up--and though we see the bad easily, the good is there and I look forward to it. Does anyone else have a feeling that September and October may have something cool/pickup a bit?
I was endowed on my mission in May 2021.
None of my family went through with me, but I had my mission president, his wife, and all of the senior missionaries in the mission!

Woot woot! Tomorrow is 17 years of marriage with my stalwart, kind, hilarious, strong, good-father, handsome of a husband! Sorry about the the kissing pictures, but I'm trying to avoid faces here.
It is not as large as the Utah temples I see posted, but it is our temple and we love it! So grateful I was able to come tonight! St. Paul, Minnesota temple
I need to study the korihor's and anti-christs, and other false voices within The Book of Mormon more to understand today. Does anyone know of a chart someone has made with references to them, and a description of their argument types?

So, after reading posts about Emma Smith all day, I cannot get rid of the feeling that I need to stand up and state that she was and is an elect lady. I look forward to meeting her and conversing with this amazing fellow sister and daughter of God. I add my testimony
@Zinctastic
Just found out I get to go to the temple TONIGHT!!! Thank you for all the prayers, if I hadn't felt better this morning this wouldn't have been possible!
"But the activities need to be better!"
1. the youth should plan them.
2. What kind of activities are you all looking for? What are the activities you think are worthy? Specifics.
Well, getting on Twitter tonight introduced me to all of these

I know the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ is the word of God and clarifies the plan of salvation. I know my Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and loves me. I know that because of Him I can live with my Heavenly Father again. I know God loves me. And He loves you.
Is anyone else sick of everything being about women? I have sons, I want them to feel valued for being men. Yes, there can be both, but I never see anything about good men, and building up for them. Our boys need to hear it.
@FriedScones
I am surprised at that people think taking this and editing it, and then having girls dance to it that are representatives of BYU is okay at all. Talk about desensitized.
Thank you for the prayers for my daughter. If anyone is interested, she may need them for some time. She is okay for today. Thank you for your faith on her behalf!
Made cookies today. My 11-year-old came in and said "you have to take a picture mom!" And then asked me to email it to her 😆 They certainly don't look professional, but it was a fun day. Here's the picture she requested.
There is a multi-stake fireside on religious freedom for youth 14+ and their parents and leaders in Minnesota-probably statewide-tonight. It has been asked to be made a priority-our temple trip was canceled for it. Should be good.
I didn't want to show littlest's whole face, but I love this photo. We went to a local nature center and had family pictures taken a while ago. He is sick today, and I hate seeing my kiddos sick.

Rumors: Heard there'll be a worldwide choir. Complete hope/rumor that it'd be a fitting time to release the new hymn/music book the church has been putting together. Either way, I'm just looking forward to the uplifting spirit I need. :)
@NotYourBishop
I brought this up at church once. Everyone wanted to avoid the topic as if it was judgmental to others to consider. What I was actually implying was to look inward to see if you're prepared, not around you. (Of course teaching children, supporting spouse etc. applies)
I have been feeling less close to the spirit lately--nothing serious--just one of those downs in the ups and downs we all get. I've been waiting for an answer to prayer for 18 months. I'm just frustrated, even though I know I'm supposed to be patient. It's not 1/

A speaker in a ward today told us she was going to speak to children. She began by talking about pokemon and tied it into the gospel. It was surprisingly very good! My kids enjoyed it. Don't be like bulbasaur, allow yourself to evolve.
They are in the car on the way to the hospital the mother notices the baby isn't breathing, and announces it. I never knew until then how much it affected me. I broke down bawling and upset for a few days. How could I, as a mother, not have noticed my baby wasn't breathing? 2/
It's no masterpiece, but I wrote this poem for my kids back in 2019 and thought I'd share it here. (You need to click to read the whole poem, I believe.)

Started planning ward YW camp today. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited! This will be the first overnight ward YW camp in the history of the ward! We want the spirit to be present strongly so the girl's can have a desire to keep it when the go home, and do personal study.
This talk, "Stay By the Tree" by Elder Pearson, is referenced in the Come, Follow Me lesson this week. For those who haven't read it: these first few paragraphs. Wow! The spirit knew I needed these.
