𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻, 𝗖𝗞𝗕, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗚𝗕++: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 Bitcoin (L1) and CKB (L2) are blockchains that are philosophically aligned on many levels. Both envision the future of P2P money as fundamentally censorship-resistant, immutable, permissionless, with decentralization and security as top priorities. CKB essentially extends Bitcoin functionality and scaling, without trying to shoehorn EVM where it doesn't belong. CKB follows in the footsteps of #Bitcoin by implementing POW with a fine-tuned Nakamoto consensus (NC-MAX) and a highly programmable, generalized UTXO accounting model that tokenizes state and can store any arbitrary data. CKB posits that UTXOs are inherently more secure and scalable than Ethereum's account model. CKB was designed with efficiency and sustainability in mind: it solves state bloat through targeted state rent and utilises a tail emission as an inbuilt long-term security budget. You can think of Bitcoin's POW+UTXO as v0, CKB iterates on these to create much more dynamic versions of both. One of the hallmarks of CKB is its extreme flexibility. At its heart is CKB-VM - a custom-built RISC-V based virtual machine that can adopt any cryptographic standard. This means it can connect to any chain and implement any protocol instantly. It has already implemented quantum resistant algorithms and WebAuthn standards (Passkeys). Such functionality can be added permissionlessly by anyone, no hard forks needed. RGB++ is a marvel of engineering that connects #Bitcoin and $CKB trustlessly and bridgeless-ly with no central point of failure. Using single-use-seals to issue assets and UTXO isomorphic binding to map their respective UTXOs, users can manage assets across both chains with no intermediary. For Bitcoin users, they can use their existing keys and wallets to use their assets in turing-complete smart contracts. The Bitcoin ecosystem finally has the tools and programmability to rival any smart contract platform, with CKB functioning as its execution and data availability layer. As you can see, CKB/RGB++ is the most well-developed and feature-packed L2 solution to Bitcoin, and it achievies this without compromising to Bitcoin's core principles.
