@ajcookmech It shows we can’t believe everything we’re given in either social or mainstream. I notice there’s no reference given to that chart attached where the data come from. But electricity is dear.

@farmerjim13 @JonWilken The only problem I see with the side boot is it would make it harder to take the seed tab off in wet conditions. Otherwise they look a good idea.

@JonWilken @farmerjim13 I did try a couple atom jets a few years ago but one was so tight it stopped the disc turning in our light sandy country. The atom jets I tried had a second boot on the back edge for banding fertiliser. Ended up sticking with CNH scrapers.

@farmerjim13 The welded scrapers will last a bit longer I think but they’re rediculously expensive. Hopefully you get on better.

@farmerjim13 Are they an aftermarket scraper? The last lot I bought have a welded leading edge instead of tiles

@farmerjim13 Yes I had to do mine when I changed scrapers. Made a big difference. Mine weren’t touching the disc at the bottom

@markede05626239 @TKoutsantonisMP Grew up on family farm at Bute, went away to further himself in the banking sector etc but a farmer at heart. Would eventually make a good Ag minister candidate in my eyes.

@StefanSchmitt91 Think it would depend on your type of flex front. For us with a convio I think air reel as tyne reel doesn’t get low enough. Macdon, duck feet used to do a reasonable job.

@willmuller3 Replace bearings in the front drum every second year. Feel the extra tension needed makes these bearings fail earlier than the chain version we ran in previous machine. Had a Smokey experience…..

@GrainProducerSA Yes we do. Its our main dirt road to Kadina. Trouble is this road isn’t on its own. Many farmers have similar roads to deal with. I’ll be sure to hit up the worse grain roads.

@TheLastField @ajw545 Worse? We’ve found them better here in Aus. But we used to reap peas with lifters too…..

@BenDani05340922 Had a flexicoil 60 series for 5 seasons now with no problems yet. Electric motor on each meter roll. Gives section control. Only sometimes trying to drop to a low rate of lentil the motor can’t slow enough to with the size rollers we’re using but it’s not a huge issue.
