@dvassallo Love that! My favourite teachers taught me how to think. Far more valuable than their impact on my test results, or the test results themselves.

@PaulSweeney @remarkablepaper Very kind of you to say. But I originally made the remark privately and only did so publicly when a pal said I should share it 😂

@sandorgyuris @remarkablepaper I might have been unclear. No human in the loop there when you choose the right handful option. But it offers to escalate to a human when it's unable to handle a query

@sandorgyuris @remarkablepaper I would too! In fairness it does offer to talk to a human, which kind of infers it's AI. And there was an intro message which I didn't show that mentions it's AI also.

@benarent Sure, but still cool to say he's putting an end to Nimbys and blockers of energy projects. I think 30% chance he actually does, but still a nice surprise to me that he said it.

This more or less captures my perspective on the EU. Decent idea and early progress. Now sabotaging itself and ineffective.
The 🇪🇺 European Union has completely lost track of why it was started in the first place When it was founded after WW2 the EU's objectives were: 1) to ensure economic cooperation in Europe 2) to ensure peace in Europe 3) to ensure stability in Europe It seems to have succeeded in economic cooperation for sure, as many European people and companies buy/sell easily within the EU and the removal of physical borders has helped a lot But it has completely failed in ensuring peace and stability in Europe especially recently: There is now an active war in Europe right now, at the border of the EU, and we have no way out but to ask the US to help come save us (again) Even worse, the insane Kafkaesque obsession EU bureacrats have with regulating literally everything, in particular the non-democratically elected European Commission (EC) that few European people actually agree with, is literally destabilizing Europe It's destabilizing it by shutting down any potential existing or new economic activity. And making every European person poorer every single year Thanks to the EU, Europe in 2025 has already become one of the least competitive markets in the world We know that most activities of AI companies in EU are now banned. The most groundbreaking technology since the invention of the internet is ILLEGAL in the European Union. Companies simply can not operate legally on EU territory and are now forced to move out to US, UK or Asia. Many have already left Other regulation like GDPR, VATMOSS, have made it almost impossible to operate as a small company and startups as the cost of compliance is too much to bear And it's not just technology. EU regulation has struck many other industries like agriculture Instead of stabilizing Europe, one of it foundational objectives, the EU has instead become a monster of self-enrichment and perpetually growing regulation self-sabotaging its successful industries and committing economic suicide It's a monster that we have to stop in its tracks or we have no choice but to lose Europe's future for generations to come But breaking up the EU isn't the way We have to return the European Union back to its roots, kick out the bureaucrats and make it follow its founding objectives again: 1) to ensure economic cooperation in Europe 2) to ensure peace in Europe 3) to ensure stability in Europe

@BeatrizGietner Fear not! OpenEuroLLM may come along in an unspecified number of years, bringing diversity, compliance and "sustainable access"

@BeatrizGietner I still can't get it. Not sure if it will make any difference here, but I got access to o1-pro a bit earlier by cancelling my Apple subscription and signing up directly on the chatgpt website.
