With literally no professional registration or governance. It is impossible to give informed consent in those circumstances. Surely it’s just assault?

hashtag is well worth a read. As a doctor I see the effects of medicine done badly on a regular basis. We are human and fallible, but can we please try our best to genuinely care for our patients? And genuinely listen? Too much to ask?

Very proud to be presented with a Bailiff’s Citation this evening as part of the Covid PPE team.
It was actually quite moving to be reminded of the events at the start of the pandemic, and our small part in helping the island. And what a wonderful team we had!
Selflessness in the face of tragedy - an amazing response. Crowdfunding to support the families of the crew, Larry Simyunn and Jervis Baligat of the L'Ecume II. on JustGiving ♥️
So the pain won the battle. Just want to say thanks to everyone from
@JsyAmbulance
and
@GovJsyHCS
who looked after me the last couple of days. Particularly the Pain Consultants, ITU, ED and Day Surgery. You were all amazing. Home now, exhausted but comfortable ❤️🙏 😴
I appear to have prolapsed a disc in my neck. Never had 10/10 pain before 😳 Apologies if you’re waiting for something from me - hoping to be back on my feet ASAP. In the meantime, happy new year! 🎉
Speechless is really not enough. But I have no words I can put on here publicly 🤬 if the same standards were applied in hospital we would see a prosecution every week. It makes no sense.
BREAKING: Two members of Jersey's Ambulance Service have been found guilty of failing to adequately care for a man in the moments before he died.
Paramedic John Sutherland, 61, and ambulance technician Tom Le Sauteur, 36, had both denied the charges.

Can we please just get on and legalise it? You can’t have ~10% of the working age population on a prescribed controlled drug and pretend that’s normal. It’s a 2-tier society - those that can legalise their use by paying for a prescription and those who would still go to prison 🤷♂️
🔺NEW:
A medicinal cannabis clinic clampdown could be on the horizon after an audit revealed "significant" differences between Jersey and England – with 6% of the island's working population holding a prescription compared to just 0.05% over the water⬇️

These arguments over regulating private landlords are so odd - if 11m more properties went onto Airbnb the prices would collapse. Alternatively if landlords pull out and sell their property, we have more owner occupiers. Why is that a bad thing?

This was a brilliant speech from the Lieutenant Governor. But whilst our children should be resilient enough to cope with the world, we need to work towards a world that is kinder, more human, calmer and more sustainable. It’s our way of life that’s broken, not our children 😢

Problem is you don’t increase professionalism (including tidying up after yourself) with notes like this. You increase it by treating people as professionals. Imagine a junior barrister getting this? Or engineer? Or any other professional tbh.
This is not normal behaviour, and men doing this should neither be in charge of peoples training nor patient care (and quite frankly should be in prison). Men with power have been abusing it for years, but as with recent legal cases powerful people can be held to account.

Spot on. Epidemiology is different, and the resources available to respond are minimal. People need to stop travelling off-island, stop congregating, work from home if possible, and look after the vulnerable. We can still stop it, but we're running out of time.

Yet an estimated 2/3 earn less than the mean of £42k, with the median approx £32k. And the average house price is £629k. So somewhere between 15-20x the average salary. Jersey, we have a problem…
Full-time workers in Jersey are now paid an average of £42,640 a year, but factoring in inflation, the island's average earnings haven't risen by more than 0.5% since 2001.
