@FootballCliches What’s the difference between a “struggler” and a “straggler”? Instinctively feels like a “straggler” is behind something ie losing a race, so more fitting for faltering play off challenge than a team in the relegation zone, who are surely firm “strugglers”?

@FootballCliches Went down Waynfleet Road in Earlsfield this weekend & immediately thought it was a footballer’s name in a road. Google tells me otherwise but surely Wayne Fleet was a journeyman non-league striker who made his name in an FA Cup giantkilling and “liked a pint”?

Terrible news, RIP.
Sheffield United Football Club is shocked and extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former player, George Baldock. The defender left the club in the summer after seven years at Bramall Lane and was extremely popular with supporters, staff and team-mates who pulled on a red and white shirt alongside him. The sincere condolences of everyone associated with Sheffield United are extended to George’s family and friends.
