I do a layout pass first with the camera and a proxy for the character, that way I can experiment quickly with different camera angles. After the layout pass is done, then I add in the character.

I mostly use the tablet as a second monitor for my video reference. I only animate on it when I’m doing 2dfx otherwise it’s my main monitor 😊

I actually stumble onto it accidentally. But I’d say start by researching it. YouTube’s your best bet. Then you can start learning the software required. (Blender is free). With a lot of time and practice, you can get good at it.
