Government Contract personnel will not be paid and will not get back pay in many circumstances. Contracting officers are “pausing “ contracts due to lack of funds, includes janitorial staff, maintenance, & office workers.

What makes me chuckle is knowing the only places where rump offspring will be welcome are places they wouldn’t be caught dead in, like Arkansas or Mississippi.
@HannahAllam
“Oklahoma is a “problem state,” with at least five significant white-supremacist prison gangs, said Mark Pitcavage, an Anti-Defamation League researcher who has monitored the groups for decades.”
@JoyceWhiteVance
“In the past month, we’ve learned that the Secret Service failed to prepare for violence on January 6 despite receiving explicit warnings, then deleted key evidence from the day, likely breaking the law.”
@AdamKinzinger
Thanks, as a fellow Fed I have been trying to correct this lie for years. While our pension is better than many, it isn’t our salary for life. A rule of thumb is you get a percentage approximately the same as years of service unless you have less than 5 years, then you get 0.
@Teri_Kanefield
This is what upsets me, “The department did not actively probe the effort for nearly a year, and the FBI did not open an investigation of the electors scheme until April 2022, about 15 months after the attack.”

@RonDeSantisFL
“But we here in Florida are temporarily suspending all criticisms of federal handouts and any other form of socialism. And as for those “Don’t Tread on Florida” T-shirts, ball caps and flags, we’re not in a go-it-alone mood anymore.”

“the consequence of a Pentagon policy of granting top secret security clearances to huge numbers of service members, civilians and contractors. The number of employees and contractors in the entire US government with top secret clearance is about 1.25 million.”
This is a story about
#Oklahoma
even though it’s about Antlers, the same story is being played out in every small town in Oklahoma, and some suburbs of Tulsa and OKC. Yet, our Republican legislators are focused on making things worse.

Home Depot had Christmas dragons. I had one in my yard for Christmas last year and I also have the same dragons as you at Halloween. When I didn’t have the dragons out this Halloween people asked why.
@ThatEricAlper
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hand
Sent me off to a foreign land
To go and kill the yellow man
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says, "Son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said, "Son, don't you understand"
@AshaRangappa_
Finally, you got it! I have been tweeting this for days but people who have never handled gov files didn’t want to understand. Every scrap of paper in a file is registered with a trail of possession, a felony to mishandle.
@rileylroberts
Received a tin of Christmas butter cookies from a supplier, had to get permission from ethics attorney to share cookies with 30 people in the office. Didn’t get official permission until after New Year (all on annual leave).

Yes, they should get rid of all the white n
@zis
and replace them with better people. It’s horrible that the government is required to retain so many n
@zis
just to because of a quota.
@Angry_Staffer
Why are we still talking about that dead guy? The US government is about to start forcing birth on women against their will which will kill some and force many others into poverty. Discuss.
@MarkoSilberhand
To Kill a Mockingbird exposes America’s racism and class system. America was founded on “disposable people”. When slavery was stopped, our system adapted to create minimum wage slaves through the prison system and now, again, by outlawing abortion.
@MikeBusby6
I used to believe they wanted government to be more efficient, a sentiment I agree with. However, conservatives have proven over and over they want to conserve the status quo and they will waste billions to keep their power.

“You thought COVID felt like having a cold? Great, but you still may not know what the virus has done, or is doing, to your body. “Acute COVID-19 is a respiratory disease,” Koralnik says. “But long COVID is mostly about the brain.”

When I first read this I thought that must be a translation error “looting a door” must be a saying in another language. Geez, literally stealing a door. I must assume it was for their outhouse.

“Court records indicate the 16 and 17 year old victims are wards of the Texas Department of Children and Family Services, which had reported them missing from the Dallas area.
The girls were rescued in February by U.S. Marshals and a special regional St. Louis Task Force.”
@BreeNewsome
1. The election is in November. Trump is still president for 2 more months after, even if he loses.
2. Constitution states his term ends at noon. If there has been no election, the Speaker becomes president.
3. Congress cannot change the constitution.

The 25-minute recording was captured by a microphone that Stone was wearing on his lapel for a Danish film crew, which was making a feature-length documentary on the veteran Republican operative. The filmmakers allowed Washington Post reporters to review their footage in advance

I looked in Oklahoma, for kids under 18, there aren’t many opportunities for real volunteer work. Someone has to coordinate all that and find or create specific opportunities for children, creating a statewide system with staff of coordinators. Less government?
@TheLostOgle
“Why no democrat will run for office in rural Oklahoma” reason number 1. Oklahoma is not a democracy, it is a small scale oligarchy. Republicans are literally a gang and if you aren’t in the gang, you risk reprisals.
@SenatorLankford
That pic is disturbing, a dead, headless bird, reclining on a cushion of McDonalds hash browns, covered in cream gravy. I was never a fan of quail due to the lead buckshot that was always included in my dad’s quails but that looks like a crime scene.
@CREWcrew
“The National Capital Region Threat Intelligence Consortium (NTIC) disseminated these threats in messages and a conference call on the morning of January 4, providing a clear and prescient warning of the violence to come.”

“It’s important that students are educated on how this horrifying event—which resulted in hundreds of deaths and the destruction of Black Wall Street—only happened because of how electric and wild the love was between white people and Black people at the time,”

“Wolf violated the Hatch Act multiple times, deployed heavily armed federal agents to American cities to quell political protests just before the 2020 election and continued to serve in his position even after a judge found he had been illegally appointed.”

Perfectly logical statement that rings as true. That’s something I had not considered as I tried to figure out why they keep comparing themselves to victims of horror.

That’s why their kids leave and the population is sparse. But when it’s time for crop insurance or other government payments from Dept of Agriculture, they all have their hands out.

My father-in-law was there in 1944 when MacArthur “returned”. His squad had just returned from a mission and were, exhausted, sitting in the shade when MacArthur strolled by. Not one of them moved or saluted. Dad really hated MacArthur.
@ResisterSis20
Racism was never going away, but now the racists are exposed. The bandages have been ripped off exposing the infection. Now, it’s up to the 60% of us to cure it once and for all to atone for the original sins of America.

I live in Oklahoma; they make movies about our weather. We have every extreme of weather but every year we set more and more extreme records. Extreme cold, heat, drought, storms and even earthquakes.
@jamiekeiles
I recall someone had a theory about bad behavior in air travel that it’s because travelers are treated as prisoners entering the prison. Even if the prison is nice and has bars, it’s still a prison.

Every fed employee has a similar story. I asked a middle manager, who knew the decision was wrong why he didn’t fight for the correct answer. “CED” it would be a career ending decision. The reason I never made mgmt, couldn’t do that.
