I studied graphic design at uni and my course was very big on typography.
I didn’t understand why they’d teach negative space and type editing instead of logo making but almost 10 years forward it’s single-handedly one of my most treasured skill.
Typography is 95% of design.
The easiest way to tell the true level of a designers experience is based on their typography skills.
The way you treat your type is a skill that’s crafted over lots of experience.

I made it last year summer, I was recovering from surgery, leaving me bedridden for 2 months. I needed to reclaim tech. almost as if I knew I was about to get laid off lol
i built it with 3 legacy themes + mac aqua bits using photoshop

So… obviously I’m not retired but laid off.
Sp*tify spun out my team to be their own company, then I had a bigger surgery, I was on medical leave. Not too long after I was let go. Other life things did continue to happen so best believe, now I’m in Japan for at least a month.

But the only interesting use case was scanning a fridge then ai helps you figure out what to cook out of it. The selling point for me is not having a social media filled device.

Still to this day when people find out I’m Arab they’d make a t*rrorist joke. Even the most liberal. The Arab hate is incredibly deeply rooted, so much so that people don’t even realise it. Growing up I also thought it was the most normal thing.
