Just doing stuff. Just moving around. Pointing at things and saying their names. Yes, and-ing. A manifold world. A chaos of forms. potate-phone-coin

Fortunately only a vanishingly small percentage of behaviors can be described on the computer to any degree of accuracy or realism. The vast majority of behaviors are completely uncomputerizable.
I don't think people have fully internalized the consequences of this simple fact: any behavior that can be described on a computer, and for which it is possible in principle to collect enough data or evaluate the result automatically, *will* be doable by AI in short order.

@no_earthquake @tishray Thinking about that Clay Christiansen quote where he’s like “if I work on Saturday, that would be me implementing a strategy i do not intend to pursue” Even if a huge opportunity is sitting there, if it’s not what you wanna do, spending any time/energy on it doesn’t serve you.

I don’t think wedding vows are for saying what you “think will happen.” It’s more about what you are going to do, what you are planning to have happen, what you want to happen. You can say “I will love and cherish everything about you, and learn to love what I don’t know about you yet” without knowing 100% whether you’ll stay together. A lightning bolt could strike you and change your whole personality tomorrow and you don’t love him or even remember him anymore, but you don’t have to account for that contingency in your vows.
