Although the theme of #Nudgestock2024 was 'Patience', I find myself queuing out the door at Pret in Paddington station, impatiently waiting for @rorysutherland to open 'Flat white or f*** off' so I can get a coffee without missing my train

Hyper-palatable, cheap, massive portion sizes, devoid of anything that is health-promoting in any way. That pretty much describes the majority of popular nutrition social media content in 2024

I personally think that there is a current nutrition concern that is far more worrying than ultra-processed food. Ultra-processed information.

Daniel Kahneman, who changed psychology and economics forever, dies at 90. Thanks for everything. We remember him in 10 great quotes:

Already hands down the best and most informative conversation I've had in 2023! Huge thanks to @newmansportpsyc for taking the time!

Recently @charliebeestone invited me to talk all things gender diversity & sport with him on his great podcast, ‘well, it depends?’ - we spoke for so long it had to be released across two episodes! Link for Apple Podcasts: https://t.co/Faw1Xmn9Qp

One of the most sensible takes on ‘cancel culture’ I’ve seen. Sensible, honest, smart. I’m posting the video directly as Times Radio tweeted it with a clickbait and somewhat misleading headline that unintentionally confirmed his point. More of this please.

Interesting research suggesting that even having our phone with us, without using it - might impair performance. I’ve recently started leaving my phone in a different room for morning ‘deep work’ block of 3-4 hours, and have found it really useful

I learned that if you work hard and creatively, you can have just about anything you want, but not everything you want. Maturity is the ability to reject good alternatives in order to pursue even better ones. This Ray Dalio quote helps me when I try and take on too much at once!

This is enough friction for me to not use my phone, 10xing my productivity. Two takeaways from this: 1) Very little can beat 'work for long hours without interruption' when it comes to productivity advice 2) Manipulating friction is key for behaviour change

I occasionally visit my local Starbucks to do some work a) Because free refills on (strong!) filter coffee! b) The WiFi sometimes plays up on my phone. B is crucial - even if I log in on the WiFi on my phone, if I lock my phone and open it again, then the WiFi seems to go off.

How far ahead do people plan their careers / career goals? My life is so drastically different from even 2 years ago, I can't really see the utility of 3-5 year career goals. Interested in your thoughts @coachblueprint1 !

50 up. At an astonishing rate - better than a resignation per hour. We are truly seeing an entirely new approach in the Stokes-McCullum era. Phenomenal.
