The "out of town agitators" will find another cause to make trouble over. The distrust of the people towards to government, @coxent , and the other actors is going to remain

Injection of race into the cop city debate is a problem. Both white and black people oppose building a facility on that land. Racism is always a handy diversion from the issues.

@PeterMoskos @CharlesFLehman The well well financed forces who promoted cop city can well afford a PR agent to plant stories in British press I know many people who have hiked on the land. I regret not having taken the opportunity to do so myself. The South River watershed alliance is opposed to cop city.

@PeterMoskos @CharlesFLehman IDK about other "Cop Cities", but the one in Atlanta was built on an old forest. It was opposed here for a lot of reasons involving untrustworthy local interests. If the facility had been built on abandoned urban land, few would have opposed it
