Today, just as it is every day, is a good day to affirm our support for LGBTQ persons. (Here’s a thread of my thoughts. I have a small circle so I’m not sure who might read, but if you do, I appreciate it.) 1/11

@Ameen_HGA One thing I think we see a lot of these days and will increasingly see is the double-standard of lambasting pro-life Christians who support Democrats (eg Liz Cheney) while giving a free pass to Republicans to support legal abortion. It's all politics, no substance for them now.

@mattnightingale I'm always amazed at the grace I see from people like you. I'm a straight, white, Christian, former Republican guy, and even I have a hard time not wanting to pull the plug on certain relationships. (I do take into account past and current closeness and how obnoxious they are.)

@PastorTrey05 I’m former GOP and still not super progressive, and I absolutely love Harris and how she welcomed in people like me. To say I’m depressed right now is…totally accurate. She’s really not far left, and for people who believe in decency and rule of law, she was the obvious choice.

@matttebbe One should be able to count ballots and compare to reported results. One could do a random sample of precincts just to see if there’s a pattern. If there is, more investigation would be appropriate. If they line up, it probably sadly means the votes were counted correctly. 2/2

@SamObiWon MAGA thrives on the idea life is a zero-sum game. If a voter gets a sense that some policy would benefit (harm) a group they aren’t a part of, they have become conditioned to believe that would be to their harm (benefit). Life isn’t a zero-sum game, but they treat it like it is.

@crosby_katie It’s a struggle. I spent the last two days working from home when normally I’d go in. I don’t care to listen to any postmortem election podcasts or news. I listen to music and even then I’m very selective in what I want to listen to.😞

@_nomadic_soul This is extremely disappointing and yet I know we white guys are even worse. Definitely pissed about it on so many levels.

@WintersPolitics But I’m definitely super worried for trans community. I definitely think we (and I’m very much thinking of myself here) need to do a much better job sticking up for the trans community.

@martensmatt1 Just as a Navy vet, I know I’d have hell to pay if I touch highly classified documents and kept them in my bathroom. I would have been rightly court martialed.

@hoopersnook @JesterWootton I’m just glad I have a church that is different than all this. Not that it’s perfect. Certainly I’m not. But I’ve never felt more disconnected from American Christianity in general. I totally understand anyone leaving it. I probably would myself were I in lots of people’s shoes.
