100% agree. I really am tired of the “cultural differences” argument b/c at the end of the day, you should know what is right or wrong regardless of whether other people in your community think it’s acceptable. You can’t just go along with or engage in bigotry yourself to fit in.
Joking about someone’s race has never and will never be funny. Cultural differences are not an excuse because racism is still racism. Bentancur should know better but glad he’s publicly apologised. Yet another example of why anti-racism work within sport is so important.

It’s been a tough season for the N17 Women pod in terms of scheduling, not being able to do any player interviews, etc., but the one thing I remain super proud of is the fact that we offer a level of depth in coverage for Spurs Women that literally doesn’t exist on any other pod.
Just listened to a well known women’s football podcast and in the 4 minutes they spent talking about Spurs it was mostly filled with inaccuracies. We always joke that the media don’t care about clubs outside the top 4 but let’s not make it so obvious!
