Die Wettersituation der nächsten Tage erinnert an 2013. Hoffen wir, dass es glimpflich ausgeht.
Ab Donnerstag sind im Alpenraum ergiebige #Niederschläge mit Hochwasser möglich, in der #Schweiz vor allem im Osten und am Alpennordhang. Die Niederschlagsverteilung ist für Vb-Wetterlagen und stationäre Höhentiefs nicht ungewöhnlich, die Details sind aber noch sehr unsicher.

Vor allem in der Südosthälfte werden ab Fr große Regenmengen erwartet. Wie die unterschiedlichen Modelle die Lage berechnen ist der Grafik zu entnehmen. Dort wird auch deutlich, dass die Schwerpunkte noch etwas differieren. Sie liegen aber alle irgendwo im Süden oder Südosten./V

@ECMWF IFS reforecasts correctly predicting European Blocking onset in week 3 (top) also correctly represent WCB activity upstream, while those missing the Block also miss WCBs. We elucidate this behaviour from various angles. Congrats Jan! #LSDPatKIT

@Acouphene57 @KITKarlsruhe @HauserSeraphine @marta_wenta @marisol_osman @DorringtonJosh This book is a very nice collection of 16 published papers by the #LSDPatKIT team, which they printed as a gift. We are working on a synthesis paper which will hopefully be submitted in the next months.

2/2 ... The Large-Scale Dynamics and Predictability group now comes to an end and transitions in the new Meteorological Data Science group led by Julian Quinting. Still #LSDPatKIT has a lot of research on Weather Regimes and Atmospheric Dynamics in the pipeline. Stay tuned!
