@erlichya When I started graduate school in 1997 I was told: βno place is ever going to want two people who work on statistics and DNA. Plus population genetics theory is too hard and now dead. Bad career choice. You should work on. β Glad I didnβt listen :-).

Iβm on record saying we need to follow everyone who tested positive for CoVID with real world evidence (RWE) + βomics. Worse thing that happens is you build a massive longitudinal cohort and oversample (like CoVID) the poor, the sick, those who canβt shelter in places, etc.

Thank you! This project is the latest in a decades long collaboration with @morestrada and @lan_KarlaSM that has itβs roots at @OfficialSMBE Barcelona in 2008 when we decided we needed much better methods and data for population genomics in the Americas and beyond.

So proud of @nepaliaashish and his project. It has been a labor of love, sweat, and tear. Particularly happy we got @biorxivpreprint to let us include Abstract in local language. Science is multilingual folks and best way to make it #openaccess is to push multi-language preprints
My work with @emo_davenport, @yos_h, @MeDinesh43, @SherlockpHolmes, @cdbustamante & @GutBugs2 is now out on @biorxivpreprint. Critiques/suggestions highly appreciated. Gut microbiome transition across a lifestyle gradient in Himalaya

I am *shocked*. Shocked I tell you! Who would have seen the coming!? They didn't collect data on race, ancestry, or ethnicity in COVID Vaccine trials?! Not even an f'ing a saliva sample for SNP chip or 1X genome to figure out where they are on the PCA. It's because they care. π.

@NHGRI_Director @uwgenome Debbie was really amazing and many of us owe her a debt of gratitude π. She was a pioneer and tough as nails. She was a true ally when we were forging @1000genomes. Many of us have been worried about #LongCovid since the start of the pandemic since weβve personally and/or professionally had direct experience with #pandas #pans #MECFS. My simple thesis: not everyone responds the same to infection whether Lyme, streptococcus, or CoVID-19.
Iβm on record saying we need to follow everyone who tested positive for CoVID with real world evidence (RWE) + βomics. Worse thing that happens is you build a massive longitudinal cohort and oversample (like CoVID) the poor, the sick, those who canβt shelter in places, etc.
