@soothingMel0dy Nothing wrong with just learning Japanese, but I do think most localizers are used as scapegoats for much more complex processes at best, and actively harassed over trivialities and even outright misconceptions at worst.

@HiddenRefuge @TheZackZeal You can always buy the "unbotched" JP copies - doing that also supports the visual novel industry, even if it doesn't support licensed English-language releases.

@Noga_Navon The opposite. A few games came to the WSC first, then when Bandai abandoned the system in February 2003, were ported to the GBA. Other than Digimon and Riviera, the Final Fantasy 1/2/4 ports are in this category, for example.

@tinivule @Shpeshal_Nick "The Neo Geo Pocket is forward compatible with 39 Neo Geo Pocket Color titles". Also, arguably, "DSi" and "New 3DS" enhanced titles.

@KiddMarine @Games_BlackHole In my experience, the GBA and SC in good condition should be pretty similar in terms of display quality. You can get an IPS mod for the WSC; I don't recommend doing it to the SC, as they are less common and the SC mod has lower compatibility w/ refresh rate-changing homebrew.

@swiss_vinyl to answer your question more succinctly: no, as far as I'm aware, changing waveforms during a channel's playback should not cause any audible "auditory horrors" on the WonderSwan, though I'm not a Furnace expert specifically so I don't know if it does anything extra unusual

@Xenoimpulse artists have co-opted the language of intellectual property to try and fight what is effectively a labor dispute. it's disheartening because the success of this rhetorical trick may lead a world in which only Adobe can out-generate artists, which is strictly a worse world
