When I worked in Kenya, we hid our plans as nurses. We hid when we wanted to quit and apply for new jobs elsewhere. We hid our outmigration plans from our charge nurses. We hid everything related to our career growth and development. (Thread)

Africa seems to be fighting obesity and famine at the same time. In today's newsletter, I liken this to playing chess and draught on the same board. Good luck finding the right moves! When Obesity Meets Malnutrition: An African Paradox via @LinkedIn

@PeterStefanovi2 @DrPhilBanfield What exasperates me is how everyone keeps saying,'this is unacceptable,' yet they have known what we as nurses and other healthcare workers have been contending with in our hospitals for years now. When will things ever change?

I am shocked and saddened by the serious incident at the Royal Oldham Hospital last night. My thoughts go out to the nurse and her loved ones after this horrific attack.

The stabbing incident at A&E at the Royal Oldham hospital is quite unsettling. In addition to providing urgent care to those in need, staff have self-defence to worry about. I pray the nurse recovers from the shock and impact.
