The UPDF Military Court Martial system, among others, has been a strong deterrent against illegal gun acquisition, and gun violence in the country. We do not wish to end up like SA, or Latin American jurisdictions where criminal gangs armed with deadly weapons have taken center stage, in most cases overwhelming the police forces and challenging government authority. Not many years ago, Karamoja was a no-go region due to uncontrollable gun violence by Karacunas. Therefore, Deadly weapons in Uganda MUST strictly be maintained as a monopoly of the armed forces. Those who ILLEGALLY acquire them, and use them to COMMIT crimes, MUST be prepared to face Martial Law in all its Glory!

I was a procurement Officer in a USAID Funded program,Each year we got funded like KES320m, End of the year hiyo pesa ilikua lazima iishe. Program used to inflate their budget. Kuna end of year we had 60M left, niliitwa crisis meeting nikaambiwa nijue vile hiyo pesa itaisha.
