PLEASE NO DMs - I don’t pay for book reviews etc. When I want help I’ll seek it. Indie author contemporary romance. 3 books published: debut & first 2 of series
If anyone is interested, my website tells a bit about me and some info about my published books. One sale each of the last two months, I’d love to double it this month 😉😊
@paullewismoney
If the state pension wasn’t so appallingly low people wouldn’t need the winter fuel payment. Bring pensions up to the minimum wage level and it’s a level playing field. Also the level where tax cuts in hasn’t been raised in ages, that would help people across the board.
@MozPerkins
You’re right and…
People will always stab at their food and leave it to go cold.
Women police officers always run extremely fast in high heels, much faster than the man they’re perusing.
All criminals will find an empty warehouse and run up the stairs to the roof 🤣
@PaulKirkby3
@metpoliceuk
@MartinDaubney
I think they’re probably afraid to act and do their job. Probably because they’re hugely outnumbered. But there needs to be a solution and quickly. It should have been addressed long ago.
@petemorristwit
I support the local Lions Club (and Roundtable), not least because my late husband was a Lion for years. Both are organisations who make sure the money and support goes to the right people.
@TheCountessIE
Appalling. How are children ever going to understand singular and plural in English, when they’re used properly?
What that teacher does in private is up to her, do not inflict it on children.
@petemorristwit
So much for the “self sufficiency” promoted for Brexit. We should be buying local for anything we grow here and support our farmers and horticulture businesses. Shipping goods from New Zealand is crazy. No wonder we pay a high price for some produce. 🙄
@Metzyco1
What? I’m not religious, but I respect that some people are. They come to a Christian country and demand we change? I’ve visited other countries and respected their head covering etc visiting temples. They should do the same & respect our traditions.
Christmas is Christmas.
@petemorristwit
They’re resigning because they know they’ve wrecked the country and robbed us blind.
But look at it another way, that could mean that 94 newbies might be prepared to repair the damage and do a good job, if we trusted them to try. Maybe?🤔
And now they’re threatening all of us: sneaking us back into the EU, denying us pensions, putting our safety at risk from invaders, killing off our agriculture and wrecking land, closing our much needed energy supplies and thousands of jobs… In one week 😳
@TheEconomist
Sorry, I disagree. It was for me when I worked as an etutor. I didn’t have to have a pointless commute (hour each way) to be physically seen to be working when the tech birdseed trail saw it. I was for more productive at home away from pointless office banter. And happier.
@PeteNorth303
What has happened to our lovely country, in the last five years or so? I’m very worried where we are heading and I’m politically homeless.
@petemorristwit
I agree.
I believe from the graphs I’ve seen regarding Net Zero we only produce 0.9% Until the big emitters do something instead of expanding their emissions to sell stuff to us we must not impoverish ourselves.
The wind and solar panels I’ve read damage the planet worse.
@MartinSLewis
I think a lot of them are too proud to claim.
If the state pension was raised to the minimum wage level & the level where tax kicks in was raised, no one would have to claim benefits or winter fuel payment. It would level the playing field & help a lot of other people too.
@RupertLowe10
I’ve said many times, this sudden influx of many thousands of people is impossible to afford. When a population grows gradually and steadily over decades, housing, resources and infrastructure can gently expand with it. What is happening now is outrageous and unsustainable.
@jjb3621
Are you in the UK? I think that’s the one I took my then little boys to see from a local landmark. I remember it was slightly cloudy, and yes it cooled and all the streetlights in town came on.
@AllisonPearson
My late husband was fobbed off by a GP for months - “it’s a virus”, “it’s your body adjusting to a change in lifestyle” (he retired). When the GP finally sent him for a scan it was oesophageal cancer and he died in a month.
@70s80s90sKids
My dad worked for Cadbury’s as a rep when I was a kid, so whenever they brought out new lines he had samples to sell them so we tried them. Do you remember Dipped Flakes? They were supposed to prevent the crumble of ordinary Flakes which made a mess.
@Jennife94501468
@LorraineAuthor
I saw this on FB yesterday, and researched; it isn’t true and has been circulating since 2019 … unless anyone knows a reliable source of truth.
@master_nobody
I did the Myers Briggs test when I was at university, in the 90s and I lived in denial, because the world loves extroverts.
Then about 5-6 years ago, I fell apart and reread about it & did an online test. It explained so much. Now I accept who I am.
@TomSyvret
I had to pay for my university courses. I did them later in life because I couldn’t go when I was a late teen. It didn’t help progress my career though.
@Rugmeister78
I had a flu jab once about 25 years ago that made me sick (flu) and I’ve always refused them since. People at the surgery say it can’t make you sick - ie. catch flu, it’s not a live vaccine.
I beg to differ!
@FUDdaily
I’ve seen graphs that even if Net Zero was true, which it’s not, the UK only contributes 1%. So if we achieved Zero it would make no difference.
@PaulKirkby3
I think people are cynical of all vaccines, especially now after the Covid jabs. Remember all those lies about MMR which later proved to be false. These genuine old school vaccines are fine, but you can understand where the reluctance arises.
@petemorristwit
I agree. Free to residents here, most of whom pay taxes. It should not be free to people who just rock up here. If I was taken ill abroad, I’d get treatment and a bill.
Stop the woke nonsense and certainly do not offer free non-essential treatments.
@Jenny_1884
I went through a bad time when my kids were small and I was a single parent. I often didn’t eat, just had their leftovers so they were well-fed. I didn’t have a mobile phone, I didn’t go for expensive beauty treatments. It’s called getting priorities right, isn’t it?
@CartlandDavid
I have a friend who has health issues, who’s had all the jabs but is suffering from “Long Covid”, I do wonder why. 🤷🏼♀️ The jab was meaningless?
@JamesMelville
I totally agree. What troubles me though is how us plebs can resist it and not comply without wrecking our lives and freedoms that we want to cling onto. 🤷🏼♀️
@jes_elizabeth3
Keep going no matter how much you struggle or lack confidence. You need a basic manuscript to edit and work on to build it into something you’re pleased with. You can’t edit fresh air.
@eliistender10
Travelling to London to meet my newborn first grandson, I received a phone call from my other son to tell me my dad had died. My late husband & I pulled into the next services to get a coffee & a complete stranger came and sat with (crying) me until my husband got back to me.
@Montylockedout
I completely agree. We chanted them rhythmically. Even now if I can’t remember one I’ll choose the nearest one and silently chant my way to it.
@premnsikka
It’s been frozen for at least 3 years hasn’t it? The level should have been raised annually—it helps everyone, especially pensioners. Lowest pensions in the world and one of the highest retirement age according to a graph I’ve seen?
@ML_Philosophy
What I call ‘the deafening sound of silence’, especially when you can’t hear the person you love breathing beside you at night. I can keep busy during waking hours, but at night it’s a completely different thing.
@BladeoftheS
I thought Cameron, Johnson and Truss were bad enough, but the damage Maggie T has inflicted on our country is far worse, far more damaging.
@accidentalSBM
No, not at all. And if two of those don’t get eaten, they’re great for grating up and making spaghetti carbonara with a bit of Parmesan thrown in for good measure. 😋
I have a wish for this month … I’d love a sale or some KU page reads, my dashboard is zeros again.
For details of my books and links, here’s the link to my website:
Thank you.☺️
@tesssummers98
They have no right to meddle with nature. Peoples’ homes get flooded and the farmers’ livelihoods destroyed. There will be food shortages next. It should be banned immediately.
@ilovepreserves
He needs to learn that “Transgender” is a newly made-up term and that a boy cannot ever be a girl, even if he chooses when he’s old enough, to subject himself to destructive life-changing surgery.
@SonyaDouglas
I was in a queue in a coffee shop behind one recently: he might have thought he “looked” like a woman because he was wearing female attire, but he didn’t act, behave or stand like a woman. Just a man posing.
@juliataylor1972
@TRobinsonNewEra
I agree with you. I’m not gay but accept that some people are and what they do in private is up to them. This trans lot are evil.
@Keith99352796
@MayorofLondon
How many cameras has he found the money for? I heard they cost £600 each too.
It’s utterly disgusting. While people are being fined for using their car, because that’s their only choice to live a modern life, they’ll never afford to replace it.
@benonwine
No, it shouldn’t. People reaching pension age, or earlier, stand aside and leave a vacancy for someone younger to live and save for their retirement. People remaining at work are job blocking.
I got a lovely surprise the other day when I checked my Amazon dashboard and saw 1 instead of zero. I hope whoever bought it, enjoys it.
So, I hope to find another reader this week 🤞🏻
Here’s the link to my website with info about my books, links, etc
@kathrynhall_
I’m awaiting another warning letter because I went to visit my son and see my grandsons last week. If it wasn’t for going to see them I would never travel to London ever again. I live in a rural area nowhere near a railway station and I don’t want to change my car.
@salltweets
I’ve just thought of a great idea. Why don’t they convert gents loos to accommodate these men? Instead of having urinals, they have cubicles like the ladies have.
@g_gosden
Oh why do so many people say “should of” when they mean “should have”?
I’m fed up with the way the English language is used, right now, and I know it’s a constantly evolving language. 🙄
@emmaroc33249448
@AllisonPearson
Tax rules apply and cut in at the same level for everyone, regardless of source of income. The tax level hasn’t been raised for years.
Solution: raise the tax level to say 20k, make pensions equate to the minimum wage level and many people benefit. No WFA or benefits needed.
I’ve been very lucky the last two months with a sale in each, is it too much to hope I can’t get one this month. 🤞🏻
See my website for details of my books. 📚
@Oakymoron
@Jenny_1884
Nature always changes, always has and always will. I read we had a Mediterranean climate at this latitude once and the Sahara was green and verdant.
@FUDdaily
I totally agree with you which is why I hope Labour don’t win, by some miracle. The Tories have been bad but with a hung parliament would have to act instead of wittering on about plans. Plans aren’t good enough; we need closed borders and deportations.
As for Reform … 🧵
@JamesMelville
They used to talk about decline in workers taxes to pay pensions. It’s not pensions draining the money, it’s the invaders. Most of whom don’t plan to contribute to society. It can’t go on. But all Starmer and co want to do is kill off pensioners while feathering their own nests.
@DaveAtherton20
It’s completely wrong. Our benefits system and social housing are to help out our British citizens not give freebies to all and sundry.
Have you read my story, The Heart Guides You Home? You might like to, because it’s Book 1 of my Little Beliton Series & I’m about to publish Book 2, Learn and Move On.
They are stand alone stories, but if read in order will make more sense.
@LOVillaJavea
I wonder if many meds are. Do docs get commission for prescribing them, or extra funding if they say we have so many people with this or that? Yet when you do need to ask a doc something … 🙄
@MichelleDewbs
I had an airport bus driver do that when the lockdowns started and I’d got off a repatriation flight. My car was alone in a huge car park and he waited to make sure it started okay and I was safe. I’m forever grateful for his kindness.
Quite often here people say which actor owned a part. I nearly always reply Alan Rickman as Sheriff of Nottingham, he could play sinister well.
I have a new one to add: David Suchet as Poirot. He’s owned the part. No one plays it as well. Quirky.
@sam_bidwell
Very interesting.
I have to say that if the Scottish, Welsh and Irish identify as such, and not default British, then I identify as English. I often choose English/England as opposed to UK or British when completing forms too.
@TheFreds
🤣🤣🤣 I only sat outside once. It’s been nothing but depressing clouds and often rain, with suspiciously regular timing most of the time.
Since when do clouds wear watches? 🤷🏼♀️
