@jzpitts It’s a great way to build a readership; I publish in multiple genres, so I attract horror readers from short folk horror stories, for example. My SEO increases with each publication. I can proudly say I have 103 short publications in 8 years. Some are in college library journals.

@GlenWeatherhead The writing community is the very same who promote my works on their platforms, so the support is mutual.

@SusanSavageLee1 I don’t actually write in drafts. The document I start writing is the same one I send to publishers when I’m finished. I write/revise for as many writing sessions as it takes (pretty much daily for approximately 2 mos) to write the whole thing, do 5 editing rounds, and submit.

@RealisticPoetry Not only is the 5-7-5 format important, haikus paint a word picture. The reader should be able to visualize the imagery or emotion, tone, etc. evoked by such few words.

@moss_fiore I do this backwards. I create spin offs (stories, poetry, essays) from characters’ back stories, origin stories, etc., but the characters have already been featured in my books first.

@klhicks912 I do, but even though I make myself laugh when I write those scenes, I have to wonder if my readers do too. Good thing I have reader friends who tell me they do or I’d probably stop. I’m not very funny.

@JessGraceWrites I’m a regionalist, so I often use Spanish words like Los Nubes (the Clouds) or Sueños (Dreams).

@RealisticPoetry I try not to if I can help it. The only AI I encounter is when I google something and the AI automatic explanation pops up. I very much enjoy writing with my own skills.

@SarahCEParker On those days when I’m uninspired to write something new or to work on a WIP, I play around with photography apps and work on promos. It’s still writing, but it lets me be creative while still working on writing-related projects like trailers and animated posts.

@RealisticPoetry Ugh, as an editor I tried it; it’s as flawed as Word Editor. I haven’t tried others. I always advise writers to learn the conventions of the language to better understand how these programs often flag errors where there are none. Same goes for when we work with human editors.

@sophie_lipton I kind of surprised myself first, actually. 🤣 I never knew I could write horror or any other genre until I tried.
