Thanks @NCRuralCenter for this progress report on Medicaid expansion in North Carolina's rural communities! The data shows that a higher percentage of rural county residents have been enrolled in Medicaid expansion than in suburban and urban counties.
Medicaid expansion has helped rural people at a greater rate than their urban and suburban counterparts, according to our analysis. Over 416k people have signed up for Medicaid since NC expanded eligibility in December. About 40% of them are rural.
