I was frame by framing God of War to see how they gave their punches so much power. I noticed that after the punch they pop up the camera in the opposite direction of the punch and then they have the camera follow through with the punch.

Today was my last day at Id Software. It has been a privilege to work there for over 4 years now. I officially have my bachelors in ID! I grew up close to the studio and played ID games since I was a kid(started with Commander Keen!) I will miss it tremendously.

I use all the time. This is a simple script to toggle the playback speed of your animation to help spot issues. Assign it to a hotkey and you can toggle between 3 different playback speeds.
Bob’s scale was tricky to get right. I originally had him 50x bigger so he could lift the slayer up into the clouds but that made framing all the shots impossible. We did some movie magic cheating to make it appear he was tall enough to lift the slayer into the clouds.
This is hands down one of the best tutorials for animating birds out there. I love that he just doesn't show the key poses and talks about the bones and why things happen the way they do.

In first-person games, there's a feature you don't think about much until you're making one: having your hands not change perspective when adjusting your FOV. It's achieved by rendering the hands with one camera and the environment with a different camera.

Doom Eternal‘s new multiplayer mode (Battlemode) is so good. It might be the most intense multiplayer game I’ve ever played. I can’t wait to go into work tomorrow to rip and tear my co-workers. 😁
