Hunting my own land is such a step up from being in a lease. No more 30 minute drive to the woods followed by a 10-20 minute walk to a stand. Roll out of bed, have coffee and walk 5 minutes to my comfy blind. Hopefully today I will have some luck but I’m happy either way.

I cooked a chuck roast in the crock pot yesterday and only added beef broth and some salt and pepper. The meat was amazing and very rich. Some people say carnivore is too expensive however utilizing the cheaper cuts easily negates that.

I have cooked brisket so many different ways with great results. I’ve never done one in the crockpot though so I am going to try that this weekend. I’m sure some barbecue purists will say I’m committing sacrilege and I’m okay with that.

Well I did it, got a piece of vacant land in the woods under contract. Using my superior negotiation skills I was able to beat them down to $7k below asking. Close in 30 days, it’s still a bit surreal to me I never seen this opportunity in my future yet here I am. God is good.

Anyone ever had a lonestar tick attach to them? Living in the country ticks are just one of those things we deal with however the lonestar tick can cause a person to not be able to eat meat any longer. That would be devastating for my diet.

Well we are taking a leap of faith. Put my house on the market yesterday. God willing we will get our asking price or better and be able to resign from our jobs and move to the country debt free. We will still need to work but with no debt we can both work easier jobs.
