Local folks who've known me awhile may remember the monthly Midtown Tech Lunch meetup that I use to host. I moved my office to Decatur and decided to try it over here on the east side of town.

Using Cognito's not always in fashion but I've never used it for machine to machine auth. This pricing change might simply push developers to write their own JTW validation for these cases.

Crazy that someone else can run up your AWS bill simply by learning one of your S3 bucket names. Definitely a reason to have pseudo-random bucket names!

SQS FIFO Queues are just distributed locks. Far easier than managing the lock in DynamoDB or Redis or some other store, and you can use the MessageGroupID as a grouping mechanism.

Deleting line after line of code while refactoring is so satisfying!

@dswitzer2 Naming things is hard! But we’ve come a long way since application and session scopes! Now it’s so much easier to store state in a giant Rube Goldberg machine!

The new Key-Value store for CloudFront Functions should to speed up CDK deploys so much since a replicated function doesn't have to be synched across regions/POPs with each new deploy. #awsreinvent

Step Functions are one of my favorite services at AWS. Adding the ability to call third party APIs without invoking a Lambda is huge. #awsreinvent
