My new working paper with Kyle Mangum looks at the changing geography of travel behavior in the early stages of the pandemic.
Two Philly Fed economists model mobility changes and the spatial dynamics of #COVID19, finding that people not only traveled less in response to the pandemic, they especially avoided locations that had many cases. This travel response slowed the outbreak.
