also since the first beta release of traverse town:
while building out the newer additional areas (third district, merlin's cave), I've gone back to give the first district a sizable upgrade!
redone lighting and textures in a lot of areas, and continually adding new details :)

I'll be keeping an eye out for performance issues, bugs, etc, and I'll get hotfixes for those out as needed. Otherwise, I'll probably also release small fixes for things I'm not 100% happy with in the next 1-2 weeks. But here it is!

kh1 map shots taken in blender/without the in-game lighting because I don't have kh1 installed at the moment- some of the props like doors, hanging lights, etc are missing there!
my kh3 version still has a bit to go, missing some prop models/materials & have some errors to fix!

Undecided on what I'll go with- I associate both Hand In Hand and Night of Fate with Traverse Town! Night of Fate feels a bit more fitting to me at the moment with the town being empty/devoid after KH1, it gives a more solemn/lonely vibe that I like! TBD tho

Different engines! Modding for Unreal (a publicly available wildly known engine) is significantly easier and more user friendly than a proprietary engine like the one used for KH2

totally agree! these are pretty old- it was my first test baking lighting when the fix came out, I've overhauled the brightness/colors/light sources in the weeks since :)
I tested POM when custom mats were fixed but it had noticeable performance impacts for some friends :(

the most recent backup I have is the third district update so at least that's fine :') but I may put off Merlin's Cave and do a different area next instead because I'm annoyed
