About the new single: My home/studio piano is tiny and crummy—was the cheapest option on Craigslist at the time. It has a built in fluorescent light, so I kinda like it. If you play it very quietly it sounds good.

I was very moved that during last summer’s protests, Brad was out after curfew every night w the protestors. He’s currently my city council rep, and I’ve seen him work his hardest to make NYC better. In both profound and very boring ways—which seems good for a comptroller

Nearer to Thee, the b-side (“there are no sides here”), emerged from running a bunch of things back half speed and it just felt like the most gothic thing ever. Play it in a car with a lot of bass and it feels like a giant marble plinth of bass with a tiny band on top
