The public wasn't quite so homophobic and unaccepting until the Lavender Scare came out in full force. People still weren't fond of gay people, mind you, and there was some pressure from the government but attitudes were very much just "live and let be."

I always loved the interpretation Dark Horse had of the Engineer when they were running the Alien comics. There's some variation among artists throughout the years but I just find it infinitely more eerie that it's a skeleton and we never saw a live one on the big screen.

No but there's a lot of people who lie about their ages and say they're 18. Whenever someone says their age or birthday is actually x, it's an automatic left swipe for me because I assume they've lied about being 18 in the past.

To be fair, Biden's done a lot during his presidency. But a lot of his accomplishments just went under the radar. I wouldn't put him up there with FDR or LBJ but he's comparable to Bush Sr. in a lot of his domestic policies imo.

I still think it's wicked the original Phase 2 concept art borrowed so much from the stormtrooper helmet. Ultimately, it was redone to give it a less Imperial look, which is how we ended up with the Phase 2 helmet we know and love today. But it lives on in LEGO.

It happens a lot with Star Wars too, which is really unfortunate. But that's largely because of the Star Wars YouTube community, which is full of right wing grifters. Seeing how transphobic YouTube's community is is really disheartening as a transfem who wants to try to get in.

Modern colored film's been around since the 1930s. B&W film isn't used to make events look older but simply because it's often cheaper than color film. For comparison, an 8 pack slide of colored film for the Polaroid 660 Sun is $20. B&W is $10-15.

And they also just managed to take away the mystique of Thrawn but that's less of an issue that Rebels caused and more just the current approach to writing him in general. He went from feeling like a genuine threat to just another Saturday morning cartoon villain.

There's so many Prequel & OT settings and ships we still haven't gotten but LEGO Star Wars fans just want clones and it's exhausting. I like clones but not when it's at the expense of creativity or getting other things we haven't had before or in years.

That being said, I think Clone Wars is much better than Republic. Republic got a little too edgy at times. Both focused way too much on the Jedi for my liking but Clone Wars did a great job showing off the war itself and just how it affected people im & out of the Republic.

The owner of my local Goth club was a certified Nazi who supported Nazi black metal bands and had several Nazi tattoos. When we all found out, we boycotted the club. People ABSOLUTELY do care and to act like they don't is ridiculous. It's not chronically online.

My grandfather was born to *very* poor farmers in the midst of the war. His family has privilege at some point but WWI, which my great grandfather fought in, and 12 great uncles bankrupted them. They didn't even have a floor. Just dirt.

Pretty much. There's more to it but they're in the same vein. I see reenacting as more of a public showy thing and living history more as trying to live in the moment as you would in whatever period you're representing. Showing off vs living it.

I get a similar reaction when I tell people I do living history. I don't think people realize it's less about looks and more about passion. Yes, looks *are* important but just because I look a certain way at a certain time doesn't mean I can't pull it off.

I do something similar...ish. I just wet my razor with cold water and shave pretty much right down to the skin. I find it much easier to cut it really short without shaving cream but my skin also isn't irritated or cut easy. YMMV.

I really loved season 1 & parts of season 2 but the constant character and plot regression throughout the latter half of the show and in other shows like Book of Boba Fett make it really hard to feel invested in the story as it is now.

No, it really doesn't take a swing at her acting ability. She did everything she was given just fine. It speaks more about the writing quality and the acting director than anything else. But it's not that deep at the end of the day and you're making a mountain out of a mole hill.

Goth is also *very* popular in Mexico & most of South America. I live on the US-Mexico border and there's a huge scene here. One of the biggest current bands, Twin Tribes, is from here and there's dozens of other Latino Goth bands such as French Police or Haunt Me.

On launch, Medic had the fastest running speed, could carry C4 & could self heal. It was absolutely a *broken* class and even with every class now being able to self heal, still is. It wasn't even worth playing vehicles since a dude could run up and blow you up before you noticed

It doesn't. Unfortunately. There's the National Parks Service, which does something similar, but it's really just a hobby. I know some people that have gotten into acting or made movies through it but it's a rarity.

There's something to be said about the way his trial was handled given that his CO, Captain Ernest Medina, admitted to lying on the stand and he wasn't particularly popular among his troops beforehand. The Army famously isn't known for being very fair when it comes to trials.
