@954842165l462 @strifenjustice @bvac @musharbash_b @TheRealNole91 The implement it locally and prove how well it works. Move from that to state to federal. Instead of an untested system being applied to hundreds of millions you can harden the system small scale before a national rollout.

@954842165l462 @strifenjustice @bvac @musharbash_b @TheRealNole91 But politicians don’t have write access to the data. Just because you don’t understand how it works doesn’t mean we need to slap the blockchain on it.

@954842165l462 @strifenjustice @bvac @musharbash_b @TheRealNole91 Fraudulent changes to the record is not an issue with government records. Programmatic access is also not an issue. So blockchain solves nothing but it gives you a good platform to feel smart. Real bottom quartile stuff going on here.

@strifenjustice @954842165l462 @bvac @musharbash_b @TheRealNole91 Who proves the correctness of “we spent X usd on vehicles for DHS this year?” There must be a human in the loop for that transaction if it’s happening off chain (in fiat). Unless you are advocating for a total transformation of US currency.

@strifenjustice @954842165l462 @bvac @musharbash_b @TheRealNole91 There is nothing that prevents someone from entering fraudulent data unless the proposal is to switch the entire federal government over to cryptocurrency. A database with fraudulent data doesn’t become correct by being immutable.

@954842165l462 @bvac @musharbash_b @TheRealNole91 Thay can do that now. The apis exist. The blockchain protects against man in the middle but trust at the source is required. It does nothing to prevent agencies from entering fraudulent data.

@DemNationalist @ChaosIsMeme @esjesjesj Bad faith argument. They used existing unchallenged programs to discharge a much smaller portion. Republicans were welcome to sue to block those programs and chose not to.

@BootayJuicy @JHWeissmann But you just said the student loan got discharged. So clearly we must’ve had that too.

@BootayJuicy @JHWeissmann Oh all student debt was discharged for the same cohort of people as the original program intended? I had no idea!

@ppppp1245688 @Food4JS @micah_erfan @foardeetou @PatGAustin You’re going to be hard-pressed to find another agency that gets better results per dollar. It’s better than many private businesses.

@iansArcanum @Seraph_Notitia @trajan317 “Muh diverse brown chungus”. Listen to yourself. We’re talking about the future of the world, not an 8chan thread. You owe yourself the respect to discuss something important without leaning on memes.

@iansArcanum @Seraph_Notitia @trajan317 That stands an opposition to your statement. You said we should be more selective. That presents an opening for another country to be less selective and attract more academic research.

@iansArcanum @Seraph_Notitia @trajan317 Totally. We should just let China dominate blue sky research. That way, the next transistor can be theorized by Tsinghua University. Maybe Peking University can research the animal saliva that will be the next Ozempic. The people have spoken. Our time has passed.

@iansArcanum @Seraph_Notitia @trajan317 I don’t think that takes away from the point. The academia private industry pipeline is one of the most powerful things the US ever set up. We have the land grant system that funnels right into private industry. Blue sky research teams direct applications
