There's a new energy down in Hermiston with
@bryan5edwards
taking charge of

!
"We're not going to be an even-keeled kind of relaxed team. We've got to have maximum energy and effort in everything that we do."
That's exactly how the team wants it this year ⬇️⬇️
The hardest part about HS coaching is, players wanting to get in the gym with you during the off-season- and you simply can’t.
That’s a rule that needs to change in the WIAA.
Since when is it a problem to help kids get better with their goals?
Stop handcuffing coaches!
Stayed through injury, adversity, and the process.
Left the program better than she found it!!
Can’t wait to see what’s next your you, 22!! Super proud and time for the best off season of your career!!
Heart just turned purple 💜💜
Couldn’t be more excited to announce that I’ve accepted the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Hermiston High!!
I am eager to lead this basketball program, and the basketball community.
Time to roll the sleeves up and get to work!
One of the best games I’ve ever seen her play!!! All heart, effort, and pride. 10 helpers. 0 TO. 7 boards. 3 blocks. 2 steals. 1 charge taken. Won 50/50 balls. And played locked down defense. Can’t deny her desire to WIN.
Got a dub, scored her 2,000 point. Next day, was right back to work.
Habits define success. This young lady has habits, that directly line up with her goals.
PROUD!
Youth AAU coaches:
Make sure the kids you coach and mentor.
Are built to excel in HS. If all goes well, and beyond HS.
Winning tourneys, means nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Better TEACH them the game. Coach them hard. Hold them accountable. Prepare them for HS!
Battled all season, through a significant injury. Just to help her team! Ultra competitor.
I’ve witnessed her take on every challenge, and bust through the adversity. This situation is no different!
Watch our world, she’s going to get time to heal. Watch what she does next!

Cooper DeWitt.
One chapter closed, another one now gets started.
One of the most versatile and unselfish HS players I’ve ever seen.
It’s fine to prep for college! Congrats on a great HS career.
My guy, appreciate you chatting with me! It’s an exciting time for our program. Blessed you wanted to get some more info! Keep doing your thing! The community appreciates your professional passion!!
The culture is changing for
@CBC_MBB
. At the helm of reaching the local athletes is
@bryan5edwards
. Here is my conversation with the head basketball skills developer.
6’6 PG. willing passer w OD court vision. Scores at all 3 levels. Takes his clamps serious. All summer spoke about winning as a team and getting the league DEFENSIVE player of the year. He’s been paying his dues to improve.

Second straight double-double for Talia von Oelhoffen. 🔥
She joined the broadcast to talk about how proud she is following
@BeaverWBB
upset over rival No. 24 Oregon.

I wish young hoopers, girls AND boys. Could witness how much time and effort, she dedicates to her craft.
She’s really about her business. And continuing to get better. Which is scary!!
9-14 inside the arc. 6-8 from distance. 5-5 from the charity stripe. 41 points on 22 shots & 5 free throw attempts.
HIGHLY efficient 40 piece from
@TaliaVono
.
Limited dribbling/combos, no forced shot attempts. Just production.
Goal achieved. ✔️
Rewind to last year, when all league teams were announced. Pulled up to Chiawana, Cooper obviously upset. Told him to focus on helping his team win in playoffs. We’d address the all-league snub in the off-szn. Year later, young man WORKED for both POY awards.

Ended her summer grinding, like shes last off the bench and hasn’t achieved a damn thing.
3 workouts a day- Success is no accident!
Thank you for continuing to set new standards, and for raising the bar on what being committed to your craft looks like
@TaliaVono
2 day Invite only HS girls workout!
Want to thank, Talia von Oelhoffen. For her dedicated leadership, to the girls trying to follow in her footsteps.
They got advice, coached, and an opportunity to compete. Through skill work, O breakdowns, defense, live 5:5
They got better!
@CoachJeffLeach
Bregman said it best “this is a lot of fun. We are playing a kids game”
I think that’s very important. From the top to the bottom of sport.
Dear
@kobebryant
I wasn’t a die hard fan of yours. I never bought your shoes. I didn’t rock your jerseys. I use to argue with friends that other players were better. Always, I always, respected the work ethic, dedication, passion and obsession to be the best.
No denying it.
Before All-PAC 12. Before playing well in the PAC 12, as a HS senior. Before UCLA, OSU, Oklahoma, UCLA, UCONN in her top 5. Before HS All American. Before all the success.
She was just a hooper, wanting to get in the gym and work on her fundamentals.

Got hired to do my first coaches clinic.
Local AAU program, wants to help his coaches get better.
Can’t express how excited and thankful I am for this opportunity!
Another step towards building up the hoop community in our area!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY🎉 🥳,
@TaliaVono
It’s been unbelievable watching you dedicate your time and energy to your development. The success isn’t by accident. Thanks for letting me be your rebounder @ times. Enjoy your day‼️
I love basketball. I love helping people.
I love workouts. Developing players.
Love coaching basketball- nothing compares to coaching!! Workouts are great, open gyms, camps, etc. it’s all great.
Coaching and leading players, through a team practice. Nothing compares.
🐐’d.
Witnessed her accomplish a lot. This might be the top of the list.
Put together a camp for a great cause!! Brought D1 hoopers to the Tri.
Truly special event!!
"When this happened, I just really wanted to do something to provide any kind of support that I could for Maui." -
@TaliaVono
The
@BeaverWBB
guard hosted a youth 🏀 camp at Chiawana today to raise money for Maui!
She also got some help from some Pac-12 friends ⬇️⬇️
Katelyn Heideman (2022) Hermiston, committed to University of Providence!!
So proud of you!! Your love and dedication to the game, rewarded you!!
Now the real work begins!!
First off-season in 2 years, I’ll have gym space.
Not a park. Not a facility, with an outdoor court and horrible hoops.
An actual gym.
You know we are gonna get busy!!
Basketball can provide many blessings in life:
relationships, experiences, destinations, love & pain, successes & failures, use the game. Don’t let the game use you.
Very fortunate to impact likeminded individuals, with a desire to improve!!
She’s made a ton of great plays, during her time in a Beav jersey. It’s plays like this, that get me most hyped.
-reading the low defender
-jump skip pass
-allow her teammate to make the right play
-her decision & pass, created a “one more” for open 3.
Hockey assist.
#SPECIALSHOUTOUTSUNDAY
Kylie Thorne.
She’s really turned up her play. Cleans the glass. Has really developed a nice little mid jumper. Perfect side kick!
The games all messed up.
Parents gauge if a “trainer” can help their kid-based on social media post & who they are in the gym with. Or they are aggressively asking to get their kid in the gym.
Better get to know some of these people, first.
There’s more out there.
If you do not genuinely appreciate and support women/girls that hoop.
You don’t love the game.
You don’t love the skill set and playmaking- within the game.
Appreciate and acknowledge their greatness. They are hoopers!
Just got home from an early am workout.
My girls greeted me, as I got upstairs. Shoes and basketballs in my hand.
Eastlyn says “daddy, after the coronavirus is gone. Can we play basketball?”
Alright. This thing needs to pass over.
My girls are showing interest in hoop.
Had a solid time in Corvallis yesterday. The facilities are truly special. The BC is a vibe, hoopers paradise!
Great workout with Talia. Got a chance to link with Coach Chatterton and discuss workout details. Meet Coach Rupp (MBB) and chat about a recruit.
Until next time!
Wrapped up our season at CBC tonight. The season went by so quick. Seems like we started fall workouts yesterday.
Im most proud of our guys-because they showed up and worked. All they cared about was competing and winning.
Great group!
& most likely whole squad returning 👀
Northwest Blazer workout- before they leave to their first July viewing event. Great work girls! Compete, make plays for your team and showcase your talent for these coaches. Go kill it!!
@nwblazershoops
At 18, if you asked me what I would be doing at 33. I never would have guessed this life.
Now that I’m here, I’m truly blessed to be in the positions I am in. Being a father, the family I have, coaching and developing!!
BLESSED!
Team camp ✔️
First, I would like to thank the Oregon St WBB program for the opportunity! It was a great week of 12-15 hour days in the gym!! Secondly, the hospitality! Very thankful for everyone, and for everything!! Lastly, the continued relationships being built!
Last couple weeks, I’ve gotten to know, Weston. And I feel lucky to have done so. High character, extremely high IQ, and just a great, respectable, young man.
Would love the opportunity to coach him! Best of luck @ state!
The other day I was having a conversation, out loud that my daughter could hear. Topic was-peoples comments about me and how I go about doing things.
My oldest daughter says, “daddy, you are perfect. Don’t listen to them.”
She’s 6 and just gave me the utmost confidence!! 😭🥰
Make sure y’all mention, Talia von Oelhoffen, with the best freshman in CBB.
Team went 9-4 after she arrived (3 Ls to Stanford/S. Carolina) impact Ws >
Shot 43% from 3 & dropped 11, 4, 3
13 games of free live reps and reads 👀👩🏽🎨
Heard a wiseman once say, “when you are struggling and things aren’t going your way, work harder. When you are doing well, having successes, work even harder.”
This is how you make a team pay for trapping & scrambling. After the BS trap, 10 passes, 3 dribbles, 1 open 3!!
If you don’t appreciate this, just say you don’t like high level hoop!
Two potentials recruits called me today. Both informed me they committed to different schools.
Unfortunate for us.
But, I was pleased with the young men! They thanked our program for believing in them. The time we invested in them. And our relationship we built.
Special!
2025.
Proud of these girls!! They’ve been competing against some great teams in their age bracket. Also playing teams 1-2 years older than them.
Development 1st.
Key words “fundamentally sound and simple”
The highest levels of competition. In the 1s. 1 of 150. Winners win.
Super proud of, Talia!!
Oregon St- you got a GREAT one.
#Wootten150
1v1 Final: “You could argue the 4 girls in the final were also the most fundamentally sound & simple”

Talia von Oelhoffen.
Became the area all time leading girls scorer. 2,286 and counting. If you know the history, of all the D-1 hoopers from the area (25 years) its an unbelievable accomplishment, in 3 years.
Also, TURNING UP in the playoffs!
Been a special week in the gym-
D1: IUPUI MBB, Boise St MBB.
Fresno St WBB commit, Idaho St WBB commit.
D2: Central WA WBB commit
NAIA: Providence WBB, Hannibal LaGrange MBB
Juco: CBC MBB/WBB, Skagit Valley MBB.
HS: BBB college interest, GBB D1 offers/college interest
A SPECIAL S/O to our manager
@thundercloud509
This young man is the best at his job. He is a huge part of our culture. We greatly appreciate you, John! Thank you
Always impressed with
@jamiegracescott
work ethic. Never took a rep off.
One summer morning, she beat me to the gym, via 🚲. Probably a 15-20 MILE ride? Middle of summer! Went crazy during a workout, for about an hour and a half.
Would of rode home! -bike got a flat though!
Social distancing has lead to social awkwardness.
Do I handshake? Do I hug? Do I hand swipe the hand check? Do I euro? Do I closeout short? I’m definitely not a charge taker! Do I change isle, put a defender in jail, cause they too close to the elderly person in front of us?
