@TellyTotally Exactly proving that romantic relationships aren’t the be all and end all to soaps and for characters to remain relevant. The amount of affairs Kalfie have had has greatly damaged them. They used to be so well loved. Sad to see their iconic status damaged.

@TellyTotally Well, all I’m gonna say is what SLs and actors win awards? It isn’t relationship and affair SLs that get them wins and notoriety. The fact that only very few relationships on soaps also become iconic couples speaks volumes as well.

@TellyTotally Hardly. People tune in for real life. Topical and issue led SLs. Emotive story telling. The biggest complaint about soaps for years has been the over reliance on lazy affair SLs and throwing people into relationships because they’re too lazy to think of ACTUAL material.

@TellyTotally No and that’s the point! They are lazy! Which is also indicative of how often they resort to affairs to give characters SLs constantly. There is much more to life than relationships 🤦🏼‍♂️

@TellyTotally It only limits him if you’re a lazy writer. There’s plenty to write for him as a parent, his job, his long lost mother. In fact if you split him from Ben then he loses the connection to the Mitchell’s which would result in no ties to the square & limit his character.

@curley1_shauna She basically told Callum he needs to cheat on Ben to be a good gay. Callum of course said he was happy the way he is. Stereotype means a very simple and often offensive idea of something or someone. For example a stereotypical idea of a gay man would be camp and sleeps around.
