I am shaken and horrified by the news of the Sammy Sasso shooting. We read about violent horrors, but they don't hit home like they do when it's someone you know and care about. All thoughts and prayers to Sammy and his wonderful family.

Health update: in a rehab hospital in Philadelphia learning how to use my new prosthetic leg. So I will be absent from D-11, NJ districts and Lehigh. I'll still be commenting on results, etc., but trenchant in-person observations will have to wait. See you soon!

Sad to see Zeke Moisey's career end. He fought so hard against injuries. He will be forever remembered for his pin of Thomas Gilman in a 2015 semifinal in St. Louis. A magical moment.

coaching legend Steve Powell. He was taken ill at practice yesterday and was hospitalized. I am told he has made progress and is doing much better today. He's more than a coach, he's a good friend to many, and I know we're all rooting for him.
