People who promise they’d yell at or fight off their rapist forget that a majority of perpetrators are family members, boyfriends, and loved ones.
So factor that in when the most traumatizing thing is being forced on you by the last person you thought would do that.
“If I was being raped, I would yell/scream/fight”.
You probably wouldn’t. Victims often freeze during an assault. No matter what you *think* you would logically do, responses to trauma aren’t logical.
For those who froze: nothing is wrong with you. This was not your fault ❤️
