A massive thank you for all the support shown to me this weekend. Especially to all
@SkySportsF1
team for constant encouragement and making me so welcome.

For those asking I am not due to be with Sky this weekend. :( On the plus side it means I’ll have more time to share my thoughts on here. :)

My replacement at the track missed this race due to personnel reasons so Andrew Steel who I recruited and trained is on the pit wall for Aston. I can’t take any credit but I’m very proud!

HAM and LEC disqualified from
@cota
due to excessive plank wear. Only 4 cars were checked inc VER and NOR. That’s a 50% failure rate from those checked. Should more have been inspected when failures were found? It is very normal not to inspect everything from all cars.
#F1AUSTIN
Let’s see how it pans out but McLaren could have avoided the situation by stopping both drivers earlier. The order would have been retained and the tyres should have easily made the end of the race. This way at least one driver will be very unhappy at the end.

I have lived in England for 15 years but I feel safe as I fit the bill. Many of us contribute so much to society but we are not born here.

VER hardly ever runs in dirty air. With NOR ahead the car will feel much worse than the first stint. Also the Red Bull before the safety car wasn’t happy on the Hard tyre.

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you, family and friends are safe and warm enjoying the company with good food and merriment.

The
#VegasGP
race director’s event notes are out. Biggest thing in there is that drivers won’t be allowed to do a start at the end of the pit lane. All starts must be on the grid at the end of the session.
With a risk of rain for the start of
#MonacoGP
remember that the new wet Pirelli tyres don’t use blankets and haven’t been run yet since there introduction in Imola.

In my opinion optimum stint lengths are key for
#BrazilGP
you should never cover position or attempt the undercut. Overtaking is possible. Make the tyre deg do the work.
#f1
To be clear the regulations do not give a speed limit. Drivers run to a safety car reference lap which is a time limit between marshal posts. The reg in question also states “slowly”.
I feel for the strategy and engineering teams now with a last minute reg change to deal with. It will add complication to every element of the race.

I am very privileged to have worked with Sebastian. Everything he says is worth considering. No single person has pushed me to do more to help environmental or humanitarian causes.
For those asking I’m not going to be in
#AustraliaGP
this weekend. But I’ll be adding some views here. Also my strategy unlocked will be available early next week.

it’s 4pm UK but 8am Vegas. The same time as the start of P2 and qualifying. Should I be starting, in the middle or the end of my day?

On the gap between VER and McLaren. VER has completed a sub optimal (slower) strategy in order to avoid traffic. This meant playing it safe with longer earlier stints and maximising the chance of safety cars.

What a turn around for Aston Martin. Brilliant track position for the last run in qualifying but also the car looks much quicker than previous weeks!

OK, it’s true: Checo Pérez hasn’t had a stellar 2023. But let’s not forget that
#OnThisDay
just 3 years ago he drove a fantastic

Suggested strategies for the
#BahrainGP
I expect all to be on a 2 stop S,H,H aside from Red Bull who are forced to run a second Soft. Red Bull may run that Soft in the middle stint. I can only see a 3 stop with a well timed safety car.
#F12024
The two-stop strategy is quickest on paper with Hard and Soft the main protagonists. A three stop strategy is also plausible to make the most of the Soft’s potential, for example if the race was neutralised in its final stages.

We lost someone really special to us at the end of last year, he was a dear friend of mine and he’d been with me pretty much since I came into Formula 1. Someone who I not only had many laughs and great times with, but someone who helped me out on and off the track whenever I
No team nor the FIA is set up to police max stint length or number of pitstops. If it happens in the race except some penalty chaos. Teams will be aiming to predict pitstops for others.
#QatarGP
Having watched this a few times I think there are some good overtaking opportunities which hopefully leads to a good race. The braking for T14 might be hard to get right esp lap 1! The pit exit is tricky esp for those on track that use that line. Drivers will have a chance to

This morning I’ve had a walk around the track. I’m impressed by how freely traffic and fans are moving around. Lots of staff on hand to help. The logistics from what I’ve seen are working well.
#VegasGP
Overtaking difficulty and a long pit loss should push teams towards a 1 stop. In the past a long first stint has avoided traffic and allowed an overcut.
#imolaGP
With a disrupted P1 and a wet P2 the teams have little useful race tyre data from today. P3 data often isn’t useful as the drivers are focused on Q (and there is still a risk of rain). So we could see teams learning a lot during the race as they rely heavily on pre event work.
This is a really nice touch from
@lance_stroll
to add the mechanics names to the helmet. Everyone works so hard to bring a car together over a long season.
