This was another one of my issues at Carleton. All the white students were learning things so far detached from their communities/experience. It was just theory for them.
For me, I just ended up leaving class mad as hell ready to fight.
Can proffesors stop teaching Brown/Black students all the fucked up shit that happens to us but then just leaving it *there*. They really be depressing the fuck outta us without even offering resources or support.
