When folks from different backgrounds are visible in yr theatre, a greater diversity of people feel welcomed, at home, and hopefully happier about their tax being spent on the arts. To make this work you need to offer paid employment. Volunteering isn’t a viable shortcut IMHO

Irked again yesterday by a comment that Wales doesn’t have a playwrighting tradition. Up early rereading some Welsh plays. #timetoreimagine #Onbearridge didn’t appear from a vacuum, but a tradition that lacks proper support and critical reflection maybe...

Great night out @ShermanTheatre joyous, funny. What a show from @HijinxTheatre we danced, we sang, we laughed our socks off and we stood and cheered at the end. A wonderful #Cardiff story #Housemates

Minor prob of recent times and everything going on in the sector, is I’ve stopped talking about art - rather than how to support it, make it more equitable, resilient, sustainable. All V. important, arguably more, but I miss discussions coming from making or responding to work

Preoccupied by #Tomatoes as I travelled about Europe on the train this week. I bought some from plentiful counters in Switzerland, Germany, Netherlands, Austria and Italy. Funny that…

Someone just said to me, ‘come on where’s your sense of humour’ in relation to my early comment on this. For avoidance of doubt, the is gendered, offensive nasty propaganda it is NOT funny.

Nation’s theatre royalty out for a celebration of the late great Siôn Eirian @rwcmd today. An extraordinary revisiting of his work and friendships; a deeply political life intertwined with a brilliantly creative one, leaving a canon that could have filled 5 lives & not just one.

MISSING CAT: Folks of Canton, I’d be so grateful if you could keep a look out for GUS, check sheds etc. He’s a bit blind, has one wonky eye, and so trips over/ fall off things a lot. Super friendly though, and loves people especially people with food!
